In the central square of this quaint village, under a beautiful pergola you can enjoy in the summer, you can eat al fresco and enjoy local specialties. The menu will be a typical Slovenian / Italian choice from the Karst region: it will be meat and red wine, but every choice is delicious. It may not be summery, but still very enjoyable on a summer evening. Try the local red wines, Refosco or Terrano, as you won't find them elsewhere.

The place was found by pure chance while driving back to Trieste after an afternoon drive in Slovenia. The restaurant is rustic but well maintained and with good appearance. There is no written menu but several interesting choices were proposed. The mains are mainly meat based. Food quality and presentation are very good. Flavours are rich and intense but at the same time balanced. Prices are slightly above average even for Italian standards.

⧠A farm/restaurant with typical Mitteleuropean cuisine: a mix of Austrian, Slovenian, Italian and Meditterranean kitchen ⧠A selling point of products of own production: milk and yogurt; cow and goat cheeses and derivates; cold cuts; beef, pork and goat
We got this place recommended by local people. Since the first visit we always come at least once here, every time when we are in the area.It is a authentic and rustic place. The Jota Soup and the Gnocci are famous. The place is not fancy at all. They just serve straight and honest carsian food. They produce their own cheese from the milk of goats and cows.We recommend this place warmly

You couldn't ask for tastier food and wine in a more beautiful setting. We stayed a night in Grignano and decided to cross into Slovenia from the north rather than through Koper. As we cut our way through tiny hillside villages with even tinier roads, we decided to find a place to stop for a drink and some little bites. There is no indication that this is a restaurant - no signs anywhere. We passed it once before turning around and deciding that the yellow building must be it. There is a small gravel parking lot across the road from it, set among the grape vines. There are several tables in the outdoor patio (with shade) and even more on the inside. We sat outside, soaked up the sun and enjoyed the horizon of vineyards. We had red house wine and it was smooth and easy to drink. At 0.50/dcl it would be easy to sit and drink all day. We had several small plates, including salami, prosciutto, cheese, olives, pickles and onions. All of it was fresh and full of flavor. Our final bill was only 16 euros. It was perfect comfort food in a perfect setting.

We found this little family-run inn/wine cellar today in Sales on our trip to Prepotto and stopped for a short break, which was not so brave in the end though. :) This wonderful and cozy place with its kind owners made us stay and truly made our day. We were offered some delicious home-made ham, cheese and bread and had the possibility to taste the regions unique wine. We would warmly recommend this place to anyone.A group of 5 from Hungary...

This is a nice and rustique restaurant around a butchery and a vineyard. The food was good and more than plenty, the wine was excellent, the personnel friendly. We had the chance to come early and were well served. Unfortunately one of their wines made in into Decanter 2017 and got there some 90 points which affected the prices, if one wants to buy bottles. At our departure Restaurant and parkign lot were jammed and the personnel under stress.

Many of the dishes are re-imagined traditional Slovenian dishes but with a modern twist. The service was excellent and the food was trully amazing.

Exceptional food (gnocchi, Crema carsolina, ali di pollo fritte, lasagna di zucca). The service was not well organised but it was a wedding.

This is not first class restaurant. It is village inn in Zgonik with locals and personnel, knowing all of them and their wishes. Visitors will get nice meal or pizza in the evening. Food is fresh and local. It is not Italian. It is Mediterranean and Carstic. Gostilna has covered garden and two separated side rooms in the house. Toilettes are modest as the prices.

This is a true local agriturismo. It is run by a family, ladies wear traditional dresses, they speak Slovene and Italian and are very welcoming, always up for a joke. Food is extremely tasty, I especially like the home made starters, sausages, bread and cheese. They have great grilled meat and great desserts. Nothing fancy, but tasty tasty!
