Had lunch with family and friends last week. Very nice location with plenty of greenery surrounding the location. If you have small kids they can play in the rear of the restaurant where there is a park with swings and plenty of space to run around. There is also a small stable with three horses. The food is very good and one can choose a la carte or set menu, all reasonably priced. The service was very good too. One can choose to sit inside or out on the patio overlooking the park and stables. If the weather is good, the outside seating is perfect.

Many of the dishes are re-imagined traditional Slovenian dishes but with a modern twist. The service was excellent and the food was trully amazing.

Last week we visited Castello d' Miramare in Trieste. We then started walking back to town and saw this Trattoria. After a friendly reception by the manager we were immediately seated. I ordered a grilled octopus dish that came with amazing potatoes, rocket and delicious tomatoes. The octopus was meaty and tender and the grilling spices used made for an unbelievable taste sensation. I don 't know what anyone else in our party had for lunch and I don't really care. All I want is some more of that octopus!

Exceptional food (gnocchi, Crema carsolina, ali di pollo fritte, lasagna di zucca). The service was not well organised but it was a wedding.

This little farmhouse offers quality products that are grown in their backyard. They raise their own pigs, chickens and vegetables. The menu is simple with good dishes and wonderful wine in a nice country sight. The prices are onest. Reccomend!

This is not first class restaurant. It is village inn in Zgonik with locals and personnel, knowing all of them and their wishes. Visitors will get nice meal or pizza in the evening. Food is fresh and local. It is not Italian. It is Mediterranean and Carstic. Gostilna has covered garden and two separated side rooms in the house. Toilettes are modest as the prices.

Since we knew little about the restaurant,we were expecting the local seafood specialities. However, we were presented with a degustation dinner ,of which many of the offerings were raw prawns ,salmon, tuna etc. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious but not all to the tastes of one of our party so difficult for him. The zucchini flowes stuffed with prawns were the highlight and the fish cooked in salt was delicious. With wine ,however, the bill was â¬60 a head, rather expensive we felt, for the amount which we ate..

.."tavernetta al molo is a casual and unhurried respite from the city dining, one where the seafood offerings are straightforward but also precise, its wine list includes manynearby producersof local white grapes..." THE NEW YORK TIMES INTERNATIONAL EDITION
We were happy when we got a table for dinner but that didnât last long. Apart from the fact that the menu was in Italian only, the waiter/owner didnât seem willing to translate for us more than âitâs fish dishâ. Moreover, between courses there was 50 mins gap and although we asked about our food he answered that everyone else is waiting. Which was not true because all the tables around us already finished their dessert by the time we got our plates. We were the only tourists/ non-Italians in the restaurant and felt a bit ignored and delayed. When finally the dish came he made an inappropriate comment âI told you it will comeâ , plus it was awful! My mussels were literally full of sand, I gave up when I saw that each one is the same plus I felt so sick after for entire night. My bfâs calamari was more of an appetizer portion than a main. I donât recommend this place unless maybe if you are a local!

This is a true local agriturismo. It is run by a family, ladies wear traditional dresses, they speak Slovene and Italian and are very welcoming, always up for a joke. Food is extremely tasty, I especially like the home made starters, sausages, bread and cheese. They have great grilled meat and great desserts. Nothing fancy, but tasty tasty!

Trattoria Al Faro, a small, rustic village inn built at the beginning of early '900, in close proximity to the historic monument Triestino "The Victory Lighthouse". Located in a unique position from which extends a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Trieste
We were greeted pleasantly and shown to our table. The setting is very pretty surrounded by flowers and looking out towards the ocean. The restaurant is known for its seafood but for an entree I had baked goats cheese wrapped in prosciutto which was amazing. I savoured every mouthful. My husband had the shellfish Au Gratin which he also enjoyed. I was a little disappointed with the mixed seafood plate. I felt the sardines were overlooked but the squid and prawns were tender. An enjoyable experience.
