Ci fermiamo in questo isolato ristorante lungo la strada che porta ad "Arte Sella". Ambientazione piacevolemnte "montanara" e commensali soprattutto del luogo: operai, guardie forestali,..... . Il menù è elencato a voce dalla cameriera: scegliamo polenta con spezzatino di cervo e polenta con costine; buoni entrambi. Accompagniamo il tutto con un discreto vino della casa. Terminiamo il pranzo con un fetta di ottima torta di grano saraceno. Conto nella media.

The portions are the largest I've ever seen in Europe, only some places in the US compare... I would say a portion here is almost twice a normal trattoria one. Almost nobody manages to eat everything, and they offer to put the leftovers in a plastic box, doggy-bag style, to take away. The food is usefully brought in large serving plates, so you only put in your plate what you can eat.The waitresses were under pressure but they managed to be nice and attentive.This exhausts the good things I have to say. The dishes are edible but frankly they are poor. Ravioli Mocheni (Rufioi) were covered under a mountain of smoked scamorza cheese and swimming in (mediocre) butter, overwhelming whatever flavour the pasta had (filled with verza (cabbage)). The ravioli were very thick and had extremely poor texture. Venison was bland and tough, and came in a sea of sauce/puree made with berries, tasting very sweet. The side krauts were also bland, while the polenta was perhaps the best thing. Prices are low given the portions, but it would be better to trade off some quantity for quality. This is a place where it might make sense to eat only if you are very hungry after sport or heavy physical work.

Fresh, local products. Pizza, pasta, meat and fish. Good selection of wine and local beers. Excellent service and friendly welcoming atmosphere. Worth reserving in summer months as adjacent to campsite. A very enjoyable evening.
