Spur of the moment, 2nd choice restaurant. Limited menu for lunch. Wonderful surprise offering from the chef. Not many starters to choose from. Primo piatto choice not available, so off menu umbrichelle with vodka, tomatoes, pancetta was super. Insalata Mista not available so subbed by arugula and little tomatoes. Received a discount on the bill. Does this really happed in Italy? A very nice restaurant but I do not think I can highly recommend it.

We offer the true napolitan pizza in Orvieto. For further information about our menu reservation please contact us.
The pizzas really were excellent, and I cannot understand the previous review. Perfect dough, crispy semi-burnt base, well-kneaded dough the Neapolitan way. The special house margherita (DOP in the menu) was superb. And the house wine was lovely - fruity and light, and just right for a hot summer's day. For non-pizza eaters the octopus carpaccio and grilled prawns were equally fine. The service is idiosyncratic, to be sure, but the waitress rearranged tables to sit seven of us; she seemed abrupt at times, but could also be coaxed into a smile. This is a very simple place; the prices are keen, and the quality high. Be warned that it fills up quickly. I am not sure that they take bookings. Ge there shortly after opining time. They close when they say the close, so do not be too late either! No coffee!

We spent a very pleasant evening in a group of friends with great food, however, the acoustics was so poor it was impossible to follow conversation of people at your table. If the place wasn't full it would be probably different, but the restaurant isn't big so chances of having empty tables are quite slim. The vellutata di zucca was a great starter, buffalo tagliata was perfect, gnocchi great, but scampi absolutely overcooked so - shell was so soft it was impossible to break them and inside the scampi meat totally squashed... seemed already liquified...the dinner ended nicely with castagne arrosto, and all in all, it was a very pleasant experience

We checked in late at the hotel but confirmed before arrival that the restaurant would be open and it was. We were the only customers. The menu was actually quite varied - a lot of pasta and fish dishes. We had pasta alla Norcina - it was good. The house red was drinkable. We found the waiter to be pleasant and friendly, but the atmosphere is almost non-existent. Overall, convenient if you're staying in the hotel or close to it, but if you're staying up in hilltop Orvieto, don't make the trip down just for this one.
