I have just discovered what tiramisu is all about. I've never understood the big deal, but today, I get it. The only thing I wouldn't give 5 stars is the salad, but that's just not fair. I was just ordering it out of guilt and feeling that I needed some veggies. The fresh pappardelle and wild boar was unbelievable. And the beef with porcini mushrooms was spectacular. But did I mention the tiramisu? :). You'll find it packed with locals and they know their stuff. Friendly service. Great food. Don't miss it!

Stayed for one night on the way from Rome, in Magliano Sabina, and read about this restaurant and it's recommendation and so decided to try it. What a beautiful and wonderful experience it was. Wellcomed by the owner and the chief, got explanation about all the dishes, home made pasta and homemade vegetables. Was one of our best dinners ever. The pastas were fresh, great and tasty, the meat portion was wonderful , and also the cheese and meat plate with the delightful bread, and the extras they gave us to try were excellent. Finally the desserts were also superb. You can feel it was done with love to cook.Must say we tried different portions and all were great. (as we were a family of 5 including children). The place itself located outside the main road, up on a hill, probably with a great view with daylight. It was a great experience and try not to miss it if you are nearby!!!

We happened upon this treasure of a restaurant. The partners were charming and the food absolutely divine. My husband had pasta with bacon, courgettes, cream and Parmesan and I had gluten free pasta with chilli, tomatoes, walnuts and Parmesan. We both followed with the tenderest veal cooked in two different ways, simple but delicious. The wines were affordable, local and good and we ended with a fennel and bay digestive made by Mamma, as was all the food. We dined in the pretty courtyard and had a very special evening.

Fabulous road side restaurant at a petrol station just off the A1 motorway at the exit for Magliano Sabina. Great service with an enormous smile and just fabulous home cooking with a limited but most satisfying menu. It may not look like much from the outside but the food is fantastic and just such good value e.g. a litre of local white wine for â¬5. An absolute must for both lunch or dinner.

A Sunday afternoon lunch, high in the Sabine Hills, north of Rome, with an amazing view, sounds good - yes! Beautifully laid out restaurant, spacious and clean, with huge windows emphasizing the incredible view. Busy, friendly waiters and lots of families enjoying their food. I had a salad of mushrooms, rocket and black truffle - light and delicious. My friend had a cestino - a cheese pie with flaky pastry - that she said was delicious. The other had a gnocchetti - small potato balls in a tomato sauce - that he said was excellent. For main I had fillets of rabbit, moist, savoury and well seasoned. My friend had the duck in a moscato wine sauce - both were very good. Followed up by 2 delicious desserts and all washed down with a local white wine. This is probably a restaurant for locals, but if you are an adventurous traveller seek this place out (Michelin Guide). It's just off the autostrada and 10 minutes up into the hills. The food is excellent, the service very good, the price is very reasonable (E35 each, including wine!), the view is stunning and the surrounding countryside rivals any found in its more famous neighbour, Tuscany. La bella vita!

I have been coming here several times a year for the past 10 years. It has always been a simple but reliable place for pizza/pasta or just a drink, but over the past few years, it has upped it's game considerably. It now has a much broader menu, a more extensive wine list (couple of nice Puglia options around the 13⬠mark) and while the pizza has always been good, the standard of the second piatti has improved noticably too. One grip I'd always had was the price of the draught lager, which semed expensive in general, and also had the annoying Italian trait of charging disproportionatly more for a small glass than a large one - almost forcing you to get a 400ml glass when you actually only wanted 200m. However, on my most recent visit (28th August 2015), I was delighted to be presented with not one, but two new beer menus !! The first one is a new range of German (bavarian) kloster beers, comprising hell lager, weiss, dunkel and doppelbock. I had actually tried all of these in another near (ish) bar at Magliano Sabina, I guess the importers are pushing the brand in the region? Anyway, they are all delicious, and priced at â¬3.5 for a 500ml bottle they are great value for a premium product. The other beer menu was for a range of craft beers from Assisi. No prices, but a very luxury looking menu with glossy photos, detailed info (in both italian and English) and a good range - IPA, porter, stout, amber ale, blond beer etc.I think this illustrates Le delizie's ongoing trend to improve, and 'internationalise' it's offering, and more power to their elbow I say :-)Just to round off, we shared the Le Delizie antipasti plate. This has changed quite a bit from previously - it is now very vegetarian friendly, with four ramekins containing:salad of tomato, basil & grain (barley, I think, or maybe something like bulgar wheat ... anyway, light, fluffy and a bit nutty),beans & olives (plain but tasty)Seafood (crabsticks, octopus, shrimp and squid in vinegrette - crabsticks are not my thing, but these were pretty decent I must say) Russian salad - this was a bit of a letdown, it tasted distinctly 'zingy', I think it was slightly past its best.In addition to these ramekins, it came with a basket of heavenly foccaccia, fresh baked in the pizza oven, and the usual fritti misti and gratined vegetables (unfortunately served with way too much breadcrumbs on top, and with the crumbs still very bread-like, not crisped up .... I scraped most of them off, shame). Anyway, for 7â¬, a great sharing plate.I had pizza to follow - good as ever, excellent thin crispy base, and not overloaded with cheese. The wife had fettucini with porcini mushrooms, and neither of us could finish the generous plates. All in all, Le Delizie delivers very well, and on a warm summer night, dining under the old arches in pretty Otricoli, you could pay much more and eat much less well elsewhere.
