The La Cascina, born in 1995, is located in Tortoreto Alto, ancient village overlooking the Adriatic sea. Specialized in meat and fish dishes at very competitive prices and crisis response. The spacious rooms, suitable for banquets and receptions, are sui
You'd think that the owner of this restaurant is actively trying to discourage tourists. First of all, the place is almost impossible to find. Second, an English-speaking wait staff member is hard to find. But the food is so good for the price that you really need to make the effort. This is a nicely decorated family place where they offer a lunch menu for a fixed price of 15 euro per person, and dinner for a fixed price of 12 euro for meat dishes and 15 euro for fish. The menu changes daily, and the price includes bread, antipasto, primi, and secondi. We went there last night for Father's Day. The antipasti were sliced meats and cheese. The contorni were peas with carrots, mushrooms, and grilled mixed vegetables. The primi were ravioli with lemon sauce, cepe with sausage, and tortellini in a cream sauce. The secondi we chose were ossio buco (marvelous!) and grilled meats that included sausage, liver and country bacon. Everything was very good, and the quantity of food was amazing.I wouldn't call the food quality or the preparation outstanding, but it was very good and a wonderful value for the price. I've had worse food at double to triple the price in some of the tourist traps near the beach. Now - how to find it. You know that going anyplace in Italy requires an element of faith. Street with 14-syllable names will change names four times in four blocks. Getting from point A to point B requires the ability to read 12 place name signs on a pole as you approach a traffic circle at 30 KPH while a jerk in a Beemer is coming up behind you at 120. (While living in Los Angeles for 60 years, I thought that it was only LA jerks who drove BMW's - now I'm convinced that the community of jerks who drive Beemers is worldwide!!).When I first scoped out this place, I'd planned to drive up the road from Tortoreto Lido to Tortoreto Alto past the churches. Tried that and the road petered out before I ever found Via Badette. So here's the way that works. From SS16 in Alba, go west on Via Ascolana to the first signal light. Turn left onto Via Certosa and follow it under A14. Once you cross under A14, the road swings left a bit to travel alongside A14. Follow it about 1300 meters and then cut back hard right onto Via Fontanelle. When you get to the top of the hill, Via Fontanelle turns into Via Badette. You'll see a sign for Via Badette going to the right. Don't turn there - go straight through the intersection and the Ristorante Cascina is about 300 meters further on your left. You'll spot a neon sign that says "Aperto" and you can turn into the parking lot. Follow the road down to the second parking lot so you don't have to hike down and back up the stairs.Enjoy!

17 Euro.

The restaurant has a fantastic view from the terrace over both the Italian wine hills and the sea. The food is local, traditional and very tasty. Both me, my boyfriend and his Italian grandad loved the experience we had here. In addition, the staff were very friendly and speaks English. We will definitely be back, and I recommend anyone who is in the area to go check out this unique pearl of a restaurant.

Been here quite a few times, when visiting Alba, and always had outstanding food and drinks. Homemade crisps and artesian beer are not to be missed. Will keep visiting...

So I came to this tiny braceria thinking that it was going to be one of those secret places that are secretly amazing, and I was right. Coming from oxford, UN, it was quite clear that I would need someone who could comprehend my order. Luckily, one of the waiters worked in london and was able to get my order and bring me everything i needed efficiently. The meat was absolutely incredible, buttery, with a side of roast potatoes which were absolutely delicious. I recommend this place to anybody, 100%!

we had excellent lamb skewers "arrosticini", very small and juicy, cooked on coal with just salt and pepper, but the taste was incredible. We had some other stuff, as fried cheese, some very good salty little donuts that served as bread, a bottle of wine, and dessert and Limoncello and total was only 90 eur/4 person. Restaurant was also very nice decorated.
