We arrived early for lunch and asked if we could sit at one of the round tables with a bench. The restaurant was completely empty and there were at least 4 bench tables available. The rude manager said no, that those tables were for a minimum of 6 people. OK, we took another table. When she came back to take our order 60 seconds later and I said we needed more time, she seemed offended. Thankfully, someone fit for service took over and we had an ok meal, although portions were painfully small. My two sons shared a seafood paella while I had sea bass.I will never go back somewhere where the manager makes me feel unconfortable and unwelcome.

xdf Xamfrà the Forum , it offers Mediterranean and market cuisine , traditional touches base with evolution.
This restaurant has always produced very good tapas during the Tapadromo each May. It was raining on a windy, cold Thursday evening in Tarragona. We blew into the restaurant at 8h30, to be informed that the restaurant opened at 9pm. We were kindly shown to a table to dry out and warm up as the waiter hastily and discretely finished his front of house preparations. We chose the 3 course menu @ 15,95⬠and were agreeably surprised by the quality of each dish. Artichokes a la plancha (cooked then finished on the plancha?) and Revuelto de bacalao, both good. The main dishes, Merluza steak a la plancha and Bacalao filet oven roasted with ajillo mouselline, were perfectly cooked, translucent, flavourful and juicy. The fruit salad with mango ice-cream and Tiramisu were simply good and clearly "casero".Drinks were not included in the evening menu price (apparently they are at lunch). However wines were available by the glass and the Penedes white and Terra Alta red we chose were both attractive, fresh, well made wines that suited the menu.In all, excellent value, very well prepared dishes in a stylish and friendly locale.

Ãpats Quattros gives a kitchen that blends the culinary forefront with traditional flavors, in a quest to offer original, surprising, full of flavor and color and, simultaneously, honest, healthy and satisfying dishes.
Stumbled across this place in what feels like the Tarragona equivalent of the Piazza Navona. It felt like a big touristy area but we were too tired & hungry to wander further afield. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We ate creamed rice, mussels, hake, pork, chocolate mouse. All delicious but for serious chocoholics the chocolate fondant (or coulant in Catalan) is too die for. Lovely setting for al fresco dining & people watching. Friendly, helpful & efficient staff too. Highly recommended! xxxThank you very much for your review and for recommend us to the world, Scousepeasant! We are very happy you were so pleased with our dishes and.. the chocolate! The staff will be very glad with your words. Thanks again from their side.

The only vegan place in the area. Only 2 minutes walking from the Cathedral, in the main street of the ancient city. Placed in the 1st floor of an ancient house of the begining of twenty century. Original elements have been recovered: friezes, ceilings, f
Had a great cup of tea and a vegan cookie, that was very good even though I am not a vegan. Husband had a good cup of coffee, different cookie and a great beer.

Market cuisine restaurant for all kinds of celebrations, with dishes to share. Ideal for families, with private dining rooms for business meetings and celebrations We have lunch menu, menu and menus for groups. Near the town hall and the old town of Tarra
A visually lovely space. A relaxed yet elegant setting with exposed ancient stonework. The windowless room in a tucked away central location is nicely lit. It was bright yet peaceful - and quiet. The owner were extremely gracious. Toward the end of our meal an apparently new server with little English asked about dessert and misunderstood us. The fortunately happy result was that we were served, but not charged for, two excellent desserts we had admired when served to the table next to ours - instead of the watermelon soup and chocolates that were to have been the last two courses of my companion;s tasting menu. It was a happy accident about which we had no complaint since all the food was wonderful. This restaurant was as good as the several Michelin-starred places at which we have dined - but completely unpretentious. I especially enjoyed the steamed mussels in a slightly curried coconut broth with just the right delicate touch of jalapenos. And the desserts were spectacular.

I dined at Alvocat during my short visit to Tarragona and had an exceptional experience trying their vegan dishes. As a vegan I never thought Iâd have the chance to try croquetas but luckily they had a vegan version, made with mushrooms, and they were to die for! For the second course I ordered the mushroom paella which was just as delicious and went beyond my expectations. Beautiful presentation as you can see in the photos! To finish off I tried their specialty dessert - vegan chocolate mousse made with avocado! Of course given the restaurantâs name I felt it was right to give it a try... and it definitely did not disappoint! I will most definitely be back the next time Iâm in town :-)
