If you are looking for quality food, well presented with attention to detail in each course with a caring service from the staff, dine at this restaurant. We enjoyed lunch and an evening meal here. Lunchtime we enjoyed grilled sole sprinkled with almonds and pine nuts (our starters were chilled gazpacho soup and also potato & egg tower in a sausage sauce). Our evening starters were again the potato & egg tower & celery icecream dressed green salad. Now this was a surprise, the waiter dressed this salad from a small table close to our dining table, what a special starter that turned out to be. The main course was amazing, monkfish with seafoods, being king prawns and crayfish, mussels & cockles. (Be prepared to break open their shells to eat them) seafoods were served whole. For dessert we had lemon sorbet drizzled with vodka and chocolate fondant with hazelnut ice cream with a separate stack of fruit & cream. It was one amazing meal served by special people which made for a great evening out.

Spacious Restaurant In First Line Beach With Sea Views. Restaurant With Capacity For 150 Sitting Persons Terrace With Capacity For 100 People
While in Torredembarra we used to go to La Quilla, which is still listed in the TripAdvisor restaurant of Torredembarra but now closed by almost a year. We loved that place for their âarroz com bogavanteâ. The first time we went there in 2010, it blew our minds but this time we had to find an alternative as my lovely one, from Brasil, after few days without rice has serious sign of rice withdrawal and she loves the âbogavanteâ preparation. The place is large and very well located on the beach front. This is also an historical place with many recurring customers as I read the reviews including a friend of mine who has an apartment few meters (or yards for US) away. We were there for dinner. With our surprise there were very few customers considering we were in mid-August while the crowd passing-by the beach front walkway was quite large. Maybe it was just a sign of the pervading European economic crisis. As we were sitting I heard a patron with his family complaining about the quality of the food that âwas not like it used to beâ. He was a long time Spanish customers spending his vacation in Torredembarra. Not a good start. The manager however handled the situation with class, listening to the specifics of the complaint and profusely apologizing for the âaccidentâ.Well, maybe we had the same experience. Of course being our first time there we could not compare with prior experience. If this would have been our first restaurant in Spain it would have been an OK one. No WOW factor but a decent meal. However being accustom to very good restaurants and knowing how good the Spanish cuisine can be combined with the high expectation set by reading the reviews, we were a little disappointed. Maybe it was just a bad day and for sure we will give them another chance.

Oxid looked great and was offering great value for the Menu del Dia in the off season. Bread and oils as well as wine were included in the â¬15.50 price as well as three courses! Excellent lightly fried vegetable starter, seafood paella (though the langoustine was very prickly and hurt my mouth- careful!) and ice cream. We were comfortable with heaters, the place was popular- not surprisingly.Very pleasant staff who were patient with our âforeignâ ways!Thank you! We are glad you like our restaurant. We hope to see you again!

As a family of six we were made to feel very welcome, and the staff, including our waiter Alex, were attentive and friendly. Calimari, pizzas and risotto were all well presented and tasty. All in all a very enjoyable experience in a lovely spot by the sea. Would recommend!Thank you !!

Nice informal but fancy atmosphere. Small place with friendly owner and staff. Very good food, but as other reviewers already say a bit pricy. The old town of Altafulla, where the restaurant is located, is a small jewel. So I suggest a walk to enjoy it before/after the diner.

We arrived to eat on Sunday night and it was very quiet. The restaurant is set on a round about and boast a wonderful looking patio with large shade trees. The interior of the restaurant is well appointed and clean. The staff were more than helpful with the language barrier. Excellent selection of wines, we chose a medium bodied white. Decided on a lobster paella dinner that included three starters. Everything was fresh, the salad was cold and crisp, the mussels were steamed perfectly and the breaded squid was full of crisp. The paella was piping hot and well presented. An exceptional plate! We split a ravioli chocolate dessert which was utterly decadent. A must for any fan of chocolate and fresh cream. Thank you very much for your coment.

La toque is an informal and quiet restaurant, located at 2 min. walk from medieval castle, specializing in tasty local tapas and varied menus. Ham lovers, this is your spot! Truly excellent proposals of seafood and meat dishes with a touch of gastronomy.
Stumbled across this small restaurant on our way back to our hotel. Excellent service - attentive and multilingual waiter and manager. The food on both our visits was tasty and well-prepared. The food and drink was also very good value. Two meals and 2 cava plus a coffee for 24 euros. This is a must visit restaurant.
