Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Syracuse. Once one of ancient Greece’s most important cities, today Syracuse (Siracusa in Italian) is a lively town of about 125,000 on Sicily’s southeast coast. The city overflows with amazing remnants from its long history. Romans, Vandals and Normans are but a few of those who ruled here after the Greeks. In Syracuse’s harbor, Ortygia Island (also called Città Vecchia or Old City) is the site of many of the main attractions, including the seventh-century cathedral and the Fountain of Arethusa.

We were walking past and decided to try for lunch. A small restaurant but well worth searching for. I ordered a mango smoothie and panini with spinach, honey, hazelnuts and other things. The panini was half a loaf of delicious bread and the filling was everything it should have been. The mango smoothie in a half pint screw top jar was exactly as it should have been.I would go back tomorrow but we are staying 50km away. The food is far removed from the normal touristy offering and the ambience and service is also worth experiencing.Hello and thanks for you kind review.Great to know you appreciated our freshly prepared smoothies and the sandwiches as well. We always try to offer the best we can, choosing only fresh and seasonal products from Sicily . . reading words like yours we gladly discover that the hard work pays.Hoping to see you again soon, we wish you a good day!Gretings from Minù.

This place does not open until 7.30 in the evenings and since we arrived right on the dot we ate in solitary splendour. No problem with that since it meant the service was slick and the food hot (when it needed to be). We shared an opener of tempura vegetables, a large portion for only 8 euros. We then had shrimp risotto and tuna and mango tartare served with a poached egg o top and asparagus on the side. We shared those too. Scrumptious. All this plus a large bottle of sparkling water and three glasses of white local wine and three of red, all for 70 euros. That plus a nice clean interior with unobtrusive background music and nice staff. We gather it is quite a convivial spot later in the evening but we were not looking for that so were more than happy.Dear Guests, Thank You so much for Your positive feedback and, most of all, for being our kind Guest for one night. We are happy to read You enjoyed the food and beverage offer: Your satisfaction is the best reward! We hope You will retain a good memory of Your experience in Siracusa also thanks to our local. Best Regards, Customer Care Dpt.

We came across this trattoria purely by chance, looking for a simple lunch after visiting the Parco Archeologico di Neapolis. Clearly a local restaurant, owned by a very friendly Sicilian couple, home-made food cooked with generosity. They obviously wanted to make sure that we would not leave the place hungry! Everything was simple and tasty. Maybe not the most refined meal we had in Sicily but very good for its category.

The pizza was great. The service excellent and the owner very friendly. Good value for money. It is a basic up/pizzeria. We went quite early so not much atmosphere, most people arrive after nine o'clock. Nevertheless the pizza was great, the beer good and the people very friendly!!

NonnAngé was inspired by the love of a dear person, who taught the values of hospitality, kindness and good cooking to our family. In a little more than two years we, Angelina's grandsons, have been committed to these values for the creation of a meeting
This is a delightful venue for a private party or a special event. We booked for lunch after our civil partnership ceremony and we were not disappointed. The team were fantastic from our initial meeting, through the booking process and right up to the event itself. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was organised with great attention to detail in accordance with our wishes. The private room was beautifully decorated and the terrace was reserved for our exclusive use. All of our guests commented not only on the quantity of the food but also on the very high quality. The focus was on local specialities and everything was home made and truly delicious. We can't thank the team enough and would highly recommend this venue. We'll certainly be back!

Best Seafood food near Syracuse, Province of Syracuse, Italy

It was a clean, bright restaurant with their varieties of caponata on display in the back; long bowls of oily black olives, vibrant grilled red peppers, and mixed caponata...blue black eggplant, roasted garlic, red bell pepper...we were seated at a small wooden table quickly. I ordered a glass of white wine and sara had sparkling water. (still or sparkling are your choices). The seafood looked simply prepared and dominated the menu. Sara ordered grilled swordfish steak, and i ordered mixed fried, a melange of squid, shrimps, and lovely whole anchovies. anyone who has eaten seafood at a coastal restaurant knows that you can spoil seafood quickly from overcoating, overfrying, letting it sit too long, etc. The little wooden box of frutti di mare were perfect. Piping hot, dashed in a little flour and salt, fried to crisp succulence. I snapped down a sardine, tail and all, quite hot. Then my salate de arance (orange) was brought, a lovely fresh salad of quartered skinned orange, adorned with slices of tender fennel, bits of dried tomato, and a very light vinaigrette. A lovely citrusy foil to the crispy fried seafood. Sara had the caponata, warmed and delicious, with bread. The swordfish was grilled fast and the steak was fresh and moist, not overcooked. It was definitely a seafood bar...the food was brought lickety split, and the service was spot on and very warm. I hope to go there again.
