You must try this twist on a classical pizza: Il Pizzolo. A thick pastry pizza, which is baked, sliced and stuffed with a variety of fillings. It is re-baked with parmeggiano sprinkled on top, the pastry is the right amount of crispiness......fantastic!! Service was great, prices decent! A place you must visit if you are in Solarino. The plants in the outdoor area are a welcome distraction from the surrounding buildings. Do not forget to book, the chances are that there will be no available table if you go unannounced !

Our Bed & Breakfast proprietor kindly arranged for a guide to take just the four of us around. We followed her car to the site and we were allowed us to park beside her.She took us around quickly before the main crowds began to arrive at 10 a.m. We were then able to go around a second time at our own pace and spend as long as we wished in the areas that attracted us most. The mosaics have to be seen to be believed and anyone visiting Sicily should include a visit to this extraordinary place. We spent over two hours there.

We were there with a group of about 17 touring Sicily We all agreed this was the best meal ever. The fact it was all sustainable, the fact it was all local grown, and it's family-operated made it that much better. Especially amazing was the fresh and delicate ricotta, which I think was made that very morning. We had some with thin toast, in the ravioli, And in the desert, all of which was outstanding! Absolutely worth a visit and far from the tourist track

My husband and I ate here on the recommendation of a local resident. Located just off the pretty town square this restaurant was a real treasure. On a Sunday night when we dined it was good to see twenty or so others dining too. It also has the reputation of making the best pizzolo in the region. Decor was contemporary and service very attentive. We ordered a mixed salad and tomato salad to start and this arrived with a delicious herb topped pizza base as an alternative to bread. We followed this with amazing frutti di mare and vongole pasta. The friendly owner came to say 'hello' and practised her English and gave us a complimentary aperitif to finish our meal. We enjoyed the experience so much we returned for another meal during our holiday.
