The restaurant "La Castellina" is located in Sortino (SR) in c.da Mascalucia a few kilometers from the natural reserve of Pantalica, UNESCO world heritage site, and the Valley of the River Anapo. The comfortable and cozy rooms have been created as a result
We had a family-oriented dinner featuring a dish I've never experienced before--pizzolo. The best description: a baked pizza crust sliced in half and then filled with a variety of delectable ingredients. For the main meal we had several different varieties: pizzoli stuffed with roasted vegetables, cheese and ham and combinations of these fillings. For dessert we had pizzoli, too! These featured creamy lemon, nutella and pistachio cream. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. What a treat!

We dined from the anti-pasti buffet as a light lunch. Well, it was meant to be 'light' but it was SO delicious that I'd have happily eaten myself immobile. All the dishes were freshly made. My mouth's watering as I write this description, in recollection. The meals being eaten by other diners looked good - if only we'd been staying for longer in Syracuse!!!

Tradition and imagination at Km 0. A market of flavors that combines the taste of tradition with new and imaginative combinations of colors, aromas and flavors. All accompanied by quality wines and craft beers.
Very nice food and good service. We had a set menu, because of the festival Santa Sofia today. The menu (antipasti 4 rounds, primi, secondi and dessert) was excellent with very tasty vegetables and really good meat. Definitely go here. Very child friendly as well.

Top notch hosting, accommodation and food in an idyllic location. Cannot recommend highly enough for those who enjoy local food, wine, landscapes and freedom. Locally renowned pizzas and other Sicilian food on the menu are all explained and no service is too much trouble. Cycling around here is very pleasant- less traffic than around cities.

We were treated to a terrific meal here right in the center of town: a delicious baked cod appetizer was followed by another dish of black squid ink risotto and a white fish risotto. The lightly grilled cod covered in pistachios was specially prepared for us. Don't miss the opportunity to dine here!

Hidden away near the tip of Ortigia, this pizza place is well worth seeking out. Pizzola is a stuffed pizza speciality of the town of Sortino and is very tasty. The dough is very thin and flaky and the boar and beef one I had was divine-and unlike any pizza I've had back home. A ham,egg and aubergine pizza was also top rate.It is a small unassuming place with young ,friendly staff( when we admired the sculpted napkins the waitress showed us how to do it).The pizzas are huge and after the generous antipasti we had to get a doggie bag for next day's lunch. Good ,inexpensive food in pleasant surroundings.

Room With A Beautiful Terrace, With Typical Local Cuisine, And Especially For The Preparation Of Typical Product Called "pizzolo".
Lovely pizzeria which is packed solid even on weekdays. We went more than once as their pizzas are out of this world and they have such an extensive menu that deciding what to have is a major chore!! They also serve "pizzolos" which is pizza dough on top and bottom with the filling in between - just divine! They also serve pizzolos as dessert too. Oh and their antipasti are to die for! A genuine Sicilian pizza experience!
