Place in not in the central part of the village. It is half a kind of a pension and half a restaurant in the ground floor. Owners expect that you will come with your car or with a bike during the summer season. In winter you need to be inside. Food is good (local and Italian) and prices in the middle of the list. Service is average. They open late and are closed in the middle of the week. So, check the opening time before your visit.

The FORST brewery was founded in 1857. A few years later, Josef Fuchs, the founding father of the beer dynasty, took over the business in the area where the plant can still be found today. Even in those early days, he was able to see that it was a perfect
We had the misfortune of choosing this establishment to dine in. First impressions, ok, clean. The waitress was great, even translating & recommending items from the menu. We ordered our dinner & drinks, 8.35pm. Drinks arrived & we were settling in for an enjoyable dining experience. Not going to happen, our waitress had the difficult job of advising us that the chef/cook was not going to cook our dinner & he was finished. Avoid this restaurant & the lazy, unobliging and cowardly chef. There are way better restaurants in Brunico. Hats of to our waitress.

Saturday nightâ¦kids in bedâ¦baby sitter organised...Lets check out this new kid on the block in the wonderful city of Bruneck. I emailed the night before to ask for a table reservation and was answered by Simone very quick; something I greatly appreciate: Good Start! Wainks is not located directly in the city centre however, a short meandering walk leads you to this modern and open planned restaurant. Furnishing elements of light alpine wood, rugged grey cement contrasted with dark black metal panels, soft aquatic coloured lounge seating separated the open design from the bar seating to the 11 table restaurant seating; this all contributes to the modern and youthful feel. There are 4 high table seating arrangements and 7 regular tables as well as plenty of seating at the open bar. The open planned kitchen allows one to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the teams work. We were seated on the high tables, the velvet padded menu offered and our drinks ordered taken. The menu is divided into 4 sections; starter, in between course, main course and dessert. The variety of the menu was just mediocre; fish, meat, pasta, risotto, salad etc. I did expect to see something with a more âedgy twistâ on it that emphasis the modern feel of the building and atmosphere. However, remember we are in Bruneck where local food prevails and people enjoy what they know. Homemade bread and 2 variations of butter where set on the table and an underwhelming amuse bouche given. The amuse bouche lacked innovation and a real kick in flavour; in short: cheese, olive and pepper. Our starters of Wild herbs Salad that included caramelised goat's cheese, beetroot a Cannelloni and a risotto where presented in wonderful plates and well proportioned. The wild herb salad was really just a bunch of leaves mixed in a bowl. The dressing was excellent and the accompanying cheese and beetroot where very tasty. Cannelloni and risotto where just okay. The main course of fish was colourful and presented neatly. The taste was supreme and all flavours and elements blended well. The dessert was definitely the star dish! Chocolate mousse sphere. Very well created and out of all the dishes it had exceptional palate. Like I mentioned at the start, Wainks is the new kid on the block. You clearly see that! They have done allot but still have allot more to learn. The service was very passive and not interactive at all. The way the service staff dress, for the price of what you pay, if not acceptable running around in White Trainers and Jeans. This is a no go. Furthermore, at one occasion we saw 2 kitchen staff walk out the front, main entrance door proceeding to smoke a cigarette at the main entrance. This kid needs to learn allot. Total no-go! Have a dedicated smoking area for your staff well away from patrons view. The fine distinction of is it a bar, is it a lounge, it is fine dining, is it a restaurant, in my opinion still has to be discovered. For the price, it should be fine dining, however not gourmet. Time will tell. At this stage it is friends of friends of friends occupy seats and this is the very beginning stage of what there is to come. The owners have clearly invested allot into the building and design and soft furnishings but now they have the hard product in the bag they need to work on the soft product of staff, training and ironing out the food etc. The food was very good, not wow, not exceptional, but just very good. Will I be back, yes, would I recommended this place yes, but lets hope they solve some fine tuning issues that some patrons really do notice.

Serving only locals we discovered this hidden gem. Simple decor yet brilliant food and service. Very Italian slow food and loaded with special treats. We enjoyed the fish week. There appears to be a regularly changing seasonal menu.

Hard not to get impressed by the beauty scenario in which Oberaut has found its nest. The forrest, the two gooses brave guardians, the lovely and delicate historical decor of its small dining rooms , they are all reminiscing of the good old days. You shall beook in advance here, as this restaurant is quite well known and attracts a strong community of regular guests ,also locals .Staff is very friendly, service is enough quick and wine list well done and with correct mark ups. Up to here all will be enough to deserve a five star rating , but food has yet to come . I must admit , I am not fond of deep fried things, and here it seems most of them are coming with something fried, A superdelicios beel tartar was the best dish of the dinner. Inconcludent wild sald with fresh cheese ( fried again) , a deer goulasch just so and so and the desserts that are better to be avoided .So you will enjoy your occasion here, the location alone and the service are worth the extra drive to reach this restaurant, still the food can be better and in this part of Italy competition is quite high.
