Reviews on Middle Eastern food in Bolzano, Province of South Tyrol, Italy. The capital of Italy’s northernmost region of South Tyrol, Bolzano (Bozen in German) has only been Italian since World War I, and its character remains distinctly Germanic. At the center of the town, Piazza Walther is named for a 13th-century German minstrel. The town’s most famous resident, Ötzi the Iceman, dates from about 3300 BC and now rests at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. The striking new building for Museion, the city’s modern and contemporary art museum, opened in 2008.

My husband and I found this place on trip advisor. Donât be put off by the name or the takeaway appearance from outside. We were so impressed - it has a lovely restaurant area which is comfortable. The curries we had were amazing - so much so we returned the following night for another meal! We had prawn curries and they were perfectly cooked. Also rice and naan bread which were also delicious. The chef was in an open kitchen and it was great to see him cooking. The toilets were also extremely clean (always a good sign). The staff were so friendly and obliging. Very impressed and would be there every week if we lived here!

Second night in Bolzano, and after a good number of Italian style meals, 'it was time for a curry'. Delighted that we located Gul, and we were not disappointed. Very friendly and efficient staff who are obviously pleased to be doing what they are doing. Quality of food was great, and very tasty; we ordered the Manzo Curry and the Manzo Karahi, and also a Dal Makhni. All good, and the Dal was a different take on what we are used to (back in NZ). All were very happy and we washed down the curry with a litro of house red, which was also very good. Definitely recommended to all those looking for a change from Italian, and of course those who are inveterate curry fiends.
