we spent there 3 days, half board. Breakfast - very good standard including home made buns and cakes. Dinner - rich vegetable buffet and very good mealls of south Tyrolean style. "House wine" - Alpenrast - we taste red one, good, 18 eur bottle. But did not see wine list. Beer - "weizen" or local special pils type.

Cibi locali e genuini, prezzi consoni, cordialità in ambiente caratteristico,

We were hiking from Sand in Taufers to Burg Taufers to Reinbach Falls and back to Sand in Taufers, and we found this Gasthof at just the right moment, before we succumbed to starvation. It being late in the afternoon, we only had soups, drinks, and dessert - but everything was fresh and delicious. The drinks were "gespritzt" or carbonated drinks made by adding fizzy water to very fresh cranberry and grape juices, the barley soup and the Backerbsensuppe (just get it) were fortifying, and the Erbsenknoedel was a whole strawberry cooked inside the traditional Knoedel dough! It was all very satisfying and kept us going till a late dinner. The place seems to be popular with locals stopping for a drink or with hikers. It's great to be able to find a place like this while you're out for a long walk!

Tappa obbligatoria!!! A dir poco fantastiche!!! Super consigliato in qualsiasi stagione !!!

Restaurant Spanglwirt is located in the hotel of same name, directly in the centre of Campo Tures (Sand in Taufers). Spanglwirt offers fair traditional cuisine (including typical South-Tyrolean meals) accompanied by flexible and kind service in cozy space with warm atmosphere.

Having climbed to the top of Speikboden it was great to relax and have some refreshment with great views of the surrounding mountains. One of their specialities is a sort of " Crepe", Italian style. Lots of people enjoyed this local dish , as did my wife.

This is where the locals from up in the mountains of Ahrntal go to eat...and boy was it busy. Unfortunately Very average food that seems to go back to the dark ages of cooking and flavouring with an abundance of butter. No fine dining or culinary experience to be had here. Service is slow and basic. The table decorations where nice, bread was absolutely incredible and a large salad buffet was welcomed...I think I counted 17 dishes but unfortunately the waitress was not interesting in tipping up empty plates. The restaurant has three seating areas; two new and one old. High ceilings and windows give a warm and open atmosphere. No wifi available and outdoor seating is available. I didn't like the way our main dishes came out at different times from one another and had to wait 20 minutes between courses. In an area known for good food, wine and hospitality I was disappointed. Would not recommend and would not return.

I had dinner in this nice and inviting restaurant pizzeria located in the center of campo Tures - Sand in Taufers. I ordered the traditional tyrolean canederli and a Wiener Schnitzel as main course. Both were exquisite and the meat well cooked. Professional staff and very clean place.

We had a delicious lunch, the menu had both Austrian and Italian dishes and the staff is helpful and kind. Moreover, it is a characteristic and super nice restaurant. However, if you go by car be sure that you are fully equipped to drive on snow or ice, as the leading road is narrow and steep.
