We warmly welcome you in our Hubertusstube, at the entrance of "Val Gardena". The summits of the world-famous dolomites and the vineyards of "Valle Isarco" are in close vicinity. Since two generations, the Hubertusstube, which is situated in a sunny locat
Had a deer meat goulash one night (really good) and a spinach ravioli. The ravioli was the best I've ever had, no exaggeration. It is made right there in the kitchen.

As it was a magnificent day, we decided to go to the Villandro plateau, a place 20 km from Bolzano. We left the town late in the morning so after miles of bends, we had to park below: the car park at the top was full. With an average climb, we reached the base of the plateau in 20 minutes. In this place there is a restaurant and a bar, with good service and it is clean including the toilets. There is an artificial water basin, with numerous benches, to relax. From this point, many paths start: the most interesting are those that lead to the top of the plateau. The route takes place along a woodland path that passes through a magnificent forest of pines and firs, and then with varying altitude, moves on to mountain pine .We are over 1800 meters high and there is a really balmy air.On a clear day like this, there is a wonderful view of the Alps, like the Odle, the Sella massif, the Sella pass, the Sassolungo, the Sassopiatto, the Alpe di Siusi plateau, the Latemar and the Rosengarten. Magnificent! At 1840 meters, there was a hut equipped with local folk music; you could eat, dance and drink beer.Along the gradually climbing path, suitable for all ages, entering the forest, we saw a magpie, recognizable by the plumage and a squirrel. This does not happen often, considering that the area is always very crowded, due to its beauty. In my opinion, there are two flaws: there are few benches along the routes and, thinking of globalization, there is no signage in English, an universal language that must be understood and spoken everywhere, even in South Tyrol.

We travelled in a convertible on a scorching day so we were in desperate need for a pit stop, this place is conveniently positioned just off the motorway. The waiter was hilarious, a right character. We shared a pizza which was delicious. The view isn't too bad either from the beer garden, just a shame the motorway cuts right through it, but he ho, you can't have everything.

The opportunity to try an all-chestnut dinner was just too attractive not to try, and the kitchen did not disappoint. There was even chestnut beer available, which was not bad at all. We had the chestnut gnocchi and chestnut mousse, both delicious. Of course these were special courses not available all the time, but the creativity and the resulting tastes seem to be indicative of the quality of the kitchen. Comfortable ambiance, and great views from the town.Hello MarshallThank you for your visit and the nice rating! We will not disappoint you next time!Sunny greetings from Barbian

Placed over 1800 meters sea level, this cosy restaurant offers traditional south tirol food with a fast service. It is a nice place to take a break after a hiking or another mountain activities. Wi-fi service doesn't work out properly. I have eaten a good dessert with vanilla cream but I don't remember its name. Beautiful surroundings.

We drove up to Gassehutte around 10 am and walked the short scenic path to Rinderplatzhutte. We thought we would just stop for a quick coffee but were smitten with the menu which included fresh buttermilk and a dish called Kaiser Schmarrn ( dessert). Obviously his was well known for food in the area as very soon the place was packed with locals and tourists. We were asked if minded sharing our 6 seater table with others ( there was only two of us) Our co occupants ordered a complete meal which too looked amazing. The air is wonderful, the view of the Dolomites outstanding and the food and atmosphere not to be missedBy the way the coffee was great too!

A very nice mixture of restaurant combioning Austrian/Italian culture, good food quality but poor choices for Vegetarians & Vegans sadly besides that all was good. The service was curtious, food well prepared with very good taste.Though I don't drink Beer/Lager etc the choices are excellent & authentic as my friend had a few drinks there.
