On a trip with fifteen 13-18 year olds this place was a life-saver. The food was great, at a good price and kept everyone happy. The choice is very classic american style food with a slight twist but after a day spent speeding down the slopes you need all the food you can eat. The waiters/waitressess were very helpful and happy to help us especially with a group of children all learning English. They also gave us a very healthy discount due to the amount of time we spent with them. A very nice place to go!

We got to La Cantina totally exhausted, just after we came down from Pizzo Stella. We barely could stand. We did not have a reservation and the restaurant was totally crowded at about 8 p.m. Apparently, however, we looked so pitiful that the waiter promised us a free table within 10 minutes. In fact, in 10 minutes we could have sat and place an order. For someone who knows mainly Central Italy, the menu may not seem extremely rich. Pizza, cheese, meat and polenta - cuisine rather typical for the mountains. We chose grilled roastbeef and bacon wrapped around wooden sticks, served with polenta with cheese. Heavy, but insanely delicious. And pizza with mozzarella di bufala and prosciutto crudo. Brilliant - very thin with the aroma of burning wood. And cheese fried in batter with grappa and beer as a starter. Also delicious, but very, very filling.Such a meal, enriched with house wine, definitely helped us to recuperate after a great physical effort.Thank you

We visited this friendly restaurant many times during our stay in the little ski town of Madesimo. The food is very good, staff very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very good. There is a small hotel attached too and being only metres away from the main ski gondola we would recommend a stay here as guests eat in! We were made to feel very welcome and tried lots of different quality dishes, very good English spoken which was helpful as our Italian is not too good yet! The prices very good too. Hope to see you all again next year!

Don´t be afraid to visit this restaurant even though it´s a part of the hotel which is usually not a good sign. However this place is really amazing. The environment isn´t the most beautiful I have ever seen, but the quality of the cousine moves everything onto the highest levels.I tried a traditional regional menu - pizzoccheri della valchiavenna, deer and desert being surprised by a small antipasto before as a free gift. This even helped to completely destroyed me as everything was so good not to be able to leave anything. Be aware that the portions are huge here, for example pizzoccheri could be enought for a diner, but it would be pity not to try also something else. Having closed everything with local amaro was a final point of a perfect experience which I would like to repeat.

It's always quite amazing to see how efficient they are managing the rush hours and grand appetities of famished skiers and still keeping up the good quality of food. Great pizzas, abundant and fresh salad buffet, tasty soups. Hunger may be the best of cooks but there is definietely much more than that attracting Larici's clientele to its kitchen.
