Small pleasant trattoria in city centre. Up a small flight of steps and you are immediately welcomed by very cheerful staff. Fairly standard menu but the service is prompt the food well cooked and tasty.

You mush try the surprise menu, as many others restaurants in Valtellina should do : a tasting menu with small portions ! Excellent wine list, amazing desserts... Friendly service although should improve as the type or restaurant you expect to get a super professional service but you don't (wine was too hot when arrived, not served as it should, etc.)

We ate in a huge room without windows (the main restaurant was occupied with a wedding). The place was unbelievable noisy. The primo piatto arrived 5 minutes after we ordered, the main course before we finished the primo piatto. After 30 minutes dinner was finished. The food though was good. Go there if you want a quick dinner but for a relaxing evening.

Traditional restaurant owned by the same family from 1843. Serve local and typical dishes with a good wine list. Specialities of pasta, pizzoccheri, bresaola, polenta, meat, deer and a nice cart of desserts. All always home made.
This road-side restaurant is on the busy Sondrio-Tirano-Bormio route, and literally thousands of people must drive by it without noticing it. Which is a great shame, because it's got a strong local following and serves beautiful local-ingredient meals. We ate: local Pizzocheri, several different kinds of Bresaola, a potato-and-cheese dish called Tarroz, Deer fillets, home-cured vegetables.Unexpected dessert: wild strawberry Cheesecake! (a dish the owner's wife learned from her few years spent living in upstate New York, of all places). We drank: excellent value (10 Euro?) wine from the vignards behind the restaurant (the valley is dotted with terrific wine producers; Bettini, Fraccia and Nino Negri top name a few). I absolutely love coming here.
