We tried to get a beer and possibly some food here but after waiting 20 minutes and never even getting a menu, we walked out. While waiting, we noticed patrons at a number of tables appearing to beg for their checks so they could leave.
Resto-Pub en El Chaltén Burguers y Pizzas salidas del formato. Variedad de cervezas artesanales tiradas.
Stopped in for lunch on a windy day because the google reviews were good, but didn't have wifi to see that they were all in praise of the beers until after we got into the restaurant. Womp womp. Got a burger and a lamb sandwich. Neither was very good (lamb was overcooked, burger was large but lacking flavor) and even the fries were like the kind you get in the frozen food aisle. For a burger mood, go to B&B down the road. Maybe the alcohol here is amazing though? Service was nice though.

Came to this restaurant after a big hike. The hamburger (a double patty) was served with advocado and tomatoes (optional bacon and cheddar cheese) was wonderfully prepared and delicious. Got to talking to the owner who is also an avid mountain climber and has climbed many of the bolted routes on the El Chalten Wall. Really friendly service and this place stays open till late in the nite (11 pm).

B&B its a place eat the best burger in the chalten, we have abig terrace with happy hour of draft beer and verry good music and a view of the valley of el chalten
We were looking for a quick bite. We went here based on TA reviews. The place is like a shack with wooden benches. We went in and were seated quickly. We ordered a chimchurri and veggie burger. They were prepared quickly and served piping hot. Lots of lettuce, guacamole and tomatoes on mine. The veggie burger was hot but the patty was okay in taste. My husband loved his beer and meat burger. Service was good.

My wife and I walked 1 km west on the main drag from our hosteria Kau Si Aike to this recommended and popular restaurant. We had scouted it out along with many others yesterday, finding this one nearly full at lunch and customers enjoying large portions of all types of food. We chose a corner table on the 1st floor that could seat 60 and the loft would nearly equal that. A waitress brought menus, followed by a basket of sliced baguette and a small bowl of garlic and carrot spread. The vast menu has soups, salads, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, grilled chicken and meat. Several draft beers and many covered counter desserts were available. The 2 waitresses were kept busy but the rate of service clearly depended on the kitchen. We ordered and our drink arrived, followed shortly by our shared meal, grilled chicken with smashed potatoes with 2 slices of lemon, and a bowl of pumpkin soup (asked for it to be reheated). The food was filling, very tasty, and reasonable, totaling 370Ap=$20.50. This place is a real winner and a âgo toâ spot for people of all ages.

"Don Guerra" is a restaurant / brewery that is on the north part of the city, near the El Chálten trail. It was our favorite restaurant on the city on the past (Autumn season), and we decided to return last year on Spring. It has a more cozy and pub-oriented atmosphere, like an alpine cottage with related decoration, with an American style service, great heating for the colder days and with a nice bar on the middle of the restaurant. It has more elaborated dishes, with good portions and very nice and friendly service, and depending of the season it is packed with groups to drink the several options of beers that they have - it is also a good place to be on couples if you like a busier place. They have also Happy Hour and an extensive chart of wines and distilled drinks. We did go there twice on the last trip: in the first one, we tried the Laguna Soup (roasted pumpkin and blue cheese) that was ok, along with two excellent regional indian pale ales (IPA) and a Ravioli del Campo (stuffed lamb pasta with tomato sauce, mushrooms, and cream - just awesome and rich). In a second visit we had another two Indian pale beers along with a Del Norte Soup (sweet corn with bacon soup, very tasty), a Sorrentino del Lago (stuffed trout past with butter herbs and green onions, just delicious), and the Wok a Lo Gaucho (vegetables wok with rice chicken and Mollet egg - the egg was a bit too much boiled and the rice a bit tasteless). For dessert two Torta de Frutos Rojos (red fruit cake with American cream and ice-cream, very good). We have been there four times on the previous trip (past Autumn season), and the menu had more options, with different dishes and it was cheaper (the prices were higher on the recent visit - maybe because of the devaluation of pesos, maybe because of seasonality). They also offered a starter that was a delicious bread with pumpkin paste that we didnât get on the recent visits. We got the chance to try lots of dishes, like the squid rings, the Pizza (excellent, packed with a delicious cheese), Sorrentino del Lago, Ravioles de Campo (both delicious), Cordero a la Massa (it was the dish that I missed the most), Lomo al Pecho, Bife Don Guerra (both were excellent), the Hamburger (a bit dry) and the Flan. Without almost no exception, all dishes were very good. I don't know if they have a seasonal menu or if they just alter the menu from time to time, but gladly, many of those options still are in the menu and are excellent choices. In resume, Don Guerra is a very good choice if you want an excellent beer or some more gourmet dishes that are usually very well done, very rich and tasty in good portions. You pay a bit more than other places in the city, but the place, ingredients used, presentation and preparation are worth the extra bucks, and it still have a very good cost benefit. Without a doubt we can recommend a visit if you are in El Chálten.

We loved the food in this little restaurant. We went two times and both times the food was very tasty, for a much cheaper price than in the other restaurants. They have a menu with quite some variety (soups, empenadas, burgers, stews, milanesas) and also some things a little bit more special (like pulled pork marinated in orange). You taste that everything is made with a lot of attention. The couple running the restaurant is very friendly. The lamb and mushroom stew and the pulled pork burger are very recommended.. Great place for a beverage after a long day of hiking. Very small and gets crowded. View of Fitz Roy from the outside area. We went there every evening for drinks/happy hour, love this little place. All hikers and backpackers (same with the whole town)Great outdoor area for drinks. They have multiple beers on-tap, wine, mixed drinks etc. The long tables are shared and you meet lots of great people from all over the world. We met folks from Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, etc. Service is friendly and good. Yani the waiter was excellent (not sure if I spelled his name correctly). Long happy hour from 3-9 pm, great prices and selection. Weather is very changeable. Of the 3 days we were there using the outside area â one was cold and damp (semi-winter coats), one was beautiful with lots of sun (short sleeve shirts and sunscreen), and one was in-between cloudy and cool. Just be prepared for the variation. Also they do take credit cards
