Vietri sul Mare ("Vietri on the Sea") is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of southern Italy. It is situated just west of Salerno, separated from the Port of Salerno by only a harbour wall. We were looking around for a place for dinner with the usual choices then happened down one of the side streets and found Hydra.It looks like a very high end expensive restaurant... very classy!We had pasta and sea bass with poppy seeds and a side dish of roasted potatoes.Thx waiters were very polite despite our lack of ability to speak Italian.They actually split the dishes so we could Share and gave us excellent recommendation for the wines....Total bill was 42 euros. Amazing!!!!

Visited this restaurant based upon Trip Advisor ranking. In short food Ok Tuna with scabs (crust) was tasty. However what let the place down was the service having just finished my food the plate was whisked away whilst my wife was still eating. My wife advised the waiter that this was bad manners, so he sulked and we did not see him again. We asked for the bill, the locals were offered a free glass of grappa we recd nothing only the bill and a grunt from the disgruntled waiter. Won't be going back.

Amazing find. From the beginning, the staff were extremely welcoming and chatted with us about the food we wanted. Ricotta ravioli was fantastic along with the antipasto (we weren't even sure what we ordered but they came out with a cheese and meat plate and a mixed veggies plate). Everything was tailored to our tastes and the staff continuously made sure everything was okay. I accidentally left my bag there and the staff ran to come find me to give it to me! Overall incredible and would definitely come again. Avoid the touristy restaurants and come here instead! I was drawn to this bar by the music....jazzy show tunes will get me every time! Once they had my attention from the street, I noticed the very unique and artsy design of the interior. There are lots of re-purposed furnishings and trippy art. I was awarded for my curiosity with excellent wine served by very friendly staff at an extremely reasonable price. Some English is spoken here and they are also very complimentary to foreigners who try to speak Italian. While we did not eat the food as we were full from an earlier meal, we were completely satisfied with our wine experience at Paria. Molto grazie tutti!

We had a great dinner at the restaurant. We stayed at the hotel and managed to get a table for the same night (calling 30min in advance) even though the place was almost full. The service, food and recommended wines were amazing! Especially the octopus was absolutely perfect!

The restaurant is really good. First and foremost Chef Cuomo is a wonderful, wonderful cook. I had two meals at the restaurant, one for business and one for pleasure. Everything was unfailingly delightful at each. Being in Amalfi, I stayed with seafood. It was perfection I note for the review two dishes: the raw seafood served on a pink salt platter and the squid served thinly sliced and flash fired. Wow! The service is outstanding as well. I can't recall waiting for anything- ever. The Maitre d'hôtel did a wonderful job with my regional wine pairings. I could go on and on... One star is not enough!

The pasta and seafood was plentiful and delicious. The wine was good and reasonably priced. Service by the family members was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere inside was much like a country kitchen with lots of historical photos displayed.

All the other reviews highlighting exceptional quality, service, value and graciousness are spot on. The location is great, just up from Vietri Su Mar with a parking lot across the street and near the Autostrada. Enzo, who is one of the owners, suggested a perfect lunch menu for us along with a wine pairing, all for around 60 euros. He even had everything plated separately so we could share each dish. This was by far one of the best meals we have ever had in our four trips to Italy, and definitely the culinary highlight of this trip. If you go, you will absolutely not be disappointed.
