Anyone who spent some time in Cilento knows that there is quite a lot of good food around, and yet it is hard to find restaurants of a good level, offering consistent quality and professional service. A notable exception is "Le Tre Sorelle" (that means "The three sisters"). I have visited this restaurant regularly for several years, and I cannot recommend it strongly enough - I just could not find any other restaurant in the area that could compete with it.The setting on a hill is very pleasant and quiet, with soft lighting, the service is impeccable and courteous - and the food is absolutely excellent, showing the mark of a relentless search for the highest quality. The raw materials are local and always extremely fresh, especially seafood (I especially recommend the crudite'), and all dishes, although based on tradition, show the creative touch of the chef - all flavors are light and perfectly balanced. And, there is even a great selection of wines and spirits - a real rarity in the Cilento region, I have to say.It is true, as someone noted, that portions are not huge and the bill it is not cheap - but this is only fair.If you are ever in Cilento, make sure you have a dinner at Le Tre Sorelle - it is worth a detour.

Wonderful bar in Pioppi. We stopped a couple of afternoons while sightseeing in the area. The service was warm and inviting. The wine and snacks were very good. Highly recommend a visit or 2.

We met friends at the beach and they suggested we join them for dinner at Mamma Angelino's/ What a night and what a dinner. This restaurant is on the street that parallels the beach in Marina Casal Velino. If you walk out the restaurant's front door and cross the street you are on the beach! Our friend, who is Italian and lives in this town and owns the best bakery in town, Franco's Bar ordered our meal with the owner. Plate after plate of different fish came out. Each better than the previous. When I saw our friend about to order entrees, I said BASTA (enough) we all agreed. The food was fabulous and the service great. We will return.

Family-run farm in the heart of the Cilento National Park where it's possible to taste typical dishes of the Cilento tradition. Our strenght are our products: oil, flour, vegetables, cheese, wine, meat...that we produce with organic method
We stayed in the apartment I Lavatoi in Casal Velino and had all breakfasts and most dinners at the farm. Excellent and very Italian homemade food. Beautiful and practical apartment. The Family and staff are great and extremely helpful. They even picked us up at the train station and in Acciaroli after a trekking. And booked bikes that were delivered to the farm!We also did horse- riding for beginners. An experience so great that we did one additional tour. Cilento is beautiful and there are many things to do also including great beaches.

Acciaroli is the gem of Cilento, except for its restaurants which mostly left the path of local traditions to embrace a sort of posh modern-style."Al Sentiero" lays on the hills, a 10min drive from the beach, but you can't miss it. Its cuisine is firmly rooted in the centennial tradion of this area, it uses mostly ingredients from their organic farm, included the goats' milk turned into a special cheese. Among everything, don't miss its "antipasti", pasta dishes and the home made dessert. The cavatelli pasta (a sort of small local "gnocchi") is hand made daily, one by one...nowadays is a privilege to eat them! The "al sentiero" (whip cream and chocolate) cake is a godsend. Maybe coccoa is one the few ingredients not from the farm surrounding the restaurant.Expect no frills and don't rush, just sit down and eat as in a local family on sunday. At night, in the summer, the cool breeze makes this place even more enjoyable. This small restaurant is a landmark for its capacity of preserving traditions and the family-style.Its prices are absolutely low, every meal is great value deal.

Had dinner there the other night and were not disappointed at all. Menu had more fish than meats but offered something for everybody. Service was expedicious and attentive although a bit on the fanatic side ( you don't have to rush over to my table when I'm about to refill my wife's glass and do it for me, really). Food was beautifully presented and very tasty. Desserts were magnificent, or so my kids testified. Prices were very reasonable (90 euros for a three course meak with wine for the four of us). Too bad this restaurant is on a narrow sidestreet of the Lungomare; a view would have made it excellent)

I ate at La Cambusa twice; both times for lunch, when I arrived on by road bike, all sweaty and hungry, from near the Paestum where I was staying. The first time, they looked at me a bit odd, but they were very friendly anyway. Perhaps they don't get many sweaty cyclist arriving at their door for lunch. The second time, they already knew me and welcomed me with a friendly smile. Both times, I had delicious lunches, which fueled me for my return. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the cook / owner came to say hello to me both times. Lovely place overall, for both food quality and service.Ci fa molto piacere che ha trovato il pranzo di suo gradimento. Grazie per averci dato la sua fiducia e a presto rivederci

Three meals, off-season. The view is great, the restaurant has a nice contemporary white&grey style. You expect great food before you have even seen the menu. The menu is appetizing. And the food shows a a creative mind at work. Traditional ingredients from Cilento, but made interesting by new combinations and ways of preparing. Some, like "fish and chips" made of bacalao and sweet potato, or "millefeuille of bacalao and fresh cheese" are just genial. The spaghetti with shrimps and bottarga was so deep in flavours that we wondered at the magic! The wine list is interesting too. The desserts, while good in taste and very cheap, were too plain as dishes. I'd rather have paid double and eaten also with my eyes. Certainly a restaurant worth making the detour to Pioppi, and with potential to become famous.
