Traditional cuisine restaurant with modern trends where raw materials from the region of first quality are used, where the product of the Iberian pig prevails in all its options, both fresh and cured.

Enhorabuena !!!!

Lui y Keito

It's difficult to write a review about a restaurant you didn't actually eat at. We reserved for 8 people - 6 adults and two of the best behaved children anywhere (and a baby). We booked it for 8:30 (gringo and opening time). On the phone we were fairly advised that there are no tables that large to accommodate us - I offered that it must be a nice small place, but that we have no problems breaking up our small group as we were looking forward to the Asian-Spanish fusion the other TripAdvisor reviews raved about. We arrived, in the rain, at the appointed hour and noticed the restaurant is actually quite spacious with many small tables. We were assigned two tables of four which were strangely back to back when there were other that were side to side. While Lui was trying to be polite, stoic Keito was glaring at our kids with samurai daggers protruding from hers eyes (almost swatting one as he played with a reservation card on the table), obviously perturbed that such creatures would unbalance the zen of their establishment. I politely enquired if we could move a table of two to the end of a table of six - curiously he said such a practice is not allowed in his restaurant invoking that there wouldn't be enough room for staff to move about. I'd normally concede on this point - but there was a good meter on either side of the table once the smaller table was added. As we were evidently not going to be enjoying ourselves after such a hostile welcome, we chose not to stay and ruin their Feng Shui and trodded off into the cold rainy evening in search of more friendly surroundings. See review for Barbacoa La Encina for the rest of the story!

I've eaten in a few Michelin starred establishments over the years but this was without doubt, one of the best gastronomic experiences that I have ever enjoyed. Cool decor and a glass of manzanilla were the overtures to a memorable evening. We had different favourites from the fourteen or fifteen dishes on the tasting menu but my other half agreed that there was not a single dish that wasn't executed with flair and a genuine love for food. The oyster with tree tomato, the suckling pig 'sandwich' made without bread but topped with crispy, intense jamon iberico, and a beautifully cooked cod cheek were absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent and our young waiter explained each dish carefully. Top marks to the restaurant for checking about the advised food intolerances and providing alternative sauces which still worked well. There were some intriguing flavours highlighting the Peruvian/Spanish influences and new ingredients that gave every dish the 'WOW!' Factor that you expect from a restaurant of this calibre. I didn't feel overcharged for this quality of cuisine. Some very interesting wines but would have liked to have seen the wine list incorporating all the wines available by the glass. If we ever return to Salamanca, I will be booking here again.Thank you to all the team who worked so hard to make a landmark meal for my wife so special and I urge all true foodies to book jere if visiting this beautiful city. A very memorable meal that we will be discussing for many years to come.....swampbeastie,Thank you very much for the excellence score that you give us. We are very pleased to have offered the best service and delighted with your recognition. We hope to see you again soon, greetings.

As pescatarians we struggled a bit in Spain to find some nice vegetarian food. Therefore we were delighted to find Salam. A small restaurant offering food with a Moroccan influence. The food and wine were of a great standard and very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and took time to talk us through the menu choices. We ended up having three courses and enjoyed every one! Great choices - all delicious! If you fancy a change from traditional food go to Salam you won’t be disappointed. Thanks a lot. Your opinion it's really important to us. You're welcome always.
