We were recommended this restaurant while cycling through the Po Delta. It was one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world. Lovely fresh seafood, attentive but not intrusive service, good wine and excellent value. It will become our benchmark for good food !

We were exploring the Po Delta with a view to returning in the summer and came across the Il Covo restaurant in Porta Tolle.Obviously very popular with local Trades enjoying a fixed lunch menu at a very reasonable price.Excellent fresh fish and meat dishes well cooked and served with a smile!Evening menu looks even more interesting with the added benefit of freshly made and cooked Pizza with a multitude of toppings.Definitely worth a return visit in the near future.Buon appetito!

We were initially turned away politely given that the restaurant was already operating at capacity, but we decided to stay for a drink outside and keep our fingers crossed. We were eventually lucky and had an excellent lunch, with an excellent turbot and fantastic spaghetti with frutti di mare. The owner relaxed as the restaurant started to empty and made the overall experience a very pleasant one. We will definitely go back if in the area (but make sure you book ahead if you want to be seated right away).

This is a lovely restaurant out in the countryside on the levee roads just outside the park. The staff was waiting for us one evening (we got lost and found). When we said bring us what you specialize in - well, one stunning dish after another. The seafood antipasta was tender and delicious - and they brought the perfect wine for us too. Fried squid in it's own ink "Poppers" (my name) were fun, marinated sardines, grilled scallops - all perfectly cooked. We had to tell them to bring just one item for both of us - we were filling up fast. The whole roasted bass was superb - perhaps the best fish I've ever eaten. Didn't need anything sauce-wise to enhance; tender tender tender and lovely subtle flavor - a hint of herbs. We had to tell them to stop with the food. So they brought us cookies and wine for dipping (not contucci) and an after dinner drink. And they didn't break our bank!! Lovely service. We spoke with the chef (in our terrible Italian), telling him how wonderful the food was and how we felt taken care of!! A knock your socks off meal. Thank you!!!

The cuisine and dishes play an important role in the service, with revisited traditional Po recipes and with enormous attention to the typical products and raw ingredients used. The house specialty is fish, thanks to the healthy and delicious local fish m
We came here on recommendation of tripadvisor and were not disappointed. We had a good English-speaking host, which is not evident in the area. We ordered as secundi grilled mixed fish and vegetables, which were a bit too small to our opinion, but tasted absolutely delicious!

Today the restaurant is an intimate and elegant, fully renovated, helpful and ideal for cocktail parties and private functions. Simply furnished with taste and a bit 'of originality, you will recognize it because of its dark green walls and touches of des
We overnighted here (see separate review), and had lunch and dinner as well. At lunchtime there was only another couple from Austria, who had used the Slow Food guide in German to lead them here. The place is small, intimate and charming with only 7 tables. There is a separate menu for the mussels, cooked in 11 different ways; it is important to note the mussels have a "protected denomination origin" stamp awarded to the local place that cultivates them. Of course we tried one of the dishes and noticed they were less salty and larger than the mussels from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The dish was very tasty. We also tried the deep fried sardines/whitebait, eel and sea bass, as well as carpaccio di ricciola which was amazingly fresh. The spaghetti in tomato sauce was excellent in its simplicity and genuine flavours. To finish sorbet with mint and lemon - outstanding. There is an adequate wine list, with a large selection of grappas. It is not one of the cheapest osterie we have been to, but the quality, variety and ambience are certainly worth the price and the drive. The osteria is run by Pamela with her mother Arcadia, and they made us feel welcome.

Gnocchetti di pesce e fritto misto. Piatti ottimi! Nonostante il locale fosse pieno ci hanno servito in tempo zero. Il personale simpatico e gentile è sempre disponibile.Il fritto è croccante e saporito, mentre gli gnocchi sono molto gustosi! Qualità prezzo ottima, consigliato!
