Good food presented in an orignal and modern way that is unusual for a small-town restaurant. The owners are extremely nice and the variety of food offered is extensive. Basically what they do is offer very traditional dishes presented and reworked in a modern way. For example parmesan, rocket and some kind of prosciutto or bresaola is a classic in Italy, but they shred the prosciutto into a fine fluff making it nicer to look at and easier to eat. The entire time I felt I recognized the flavours of the things I was eating but the presentation was very original, you'd get your pasta in special dishes or crowned with breadstick decorations. Some people in the room got a real kick out of presentation, oooohing and aaaahing at every dish. The portions were also amble put not excessive, more modern that what you get in a traditional place. Other nice touches: a quail egg with truffle as antipasto (very yummy), warm chestnuts wrapped in prosciutto or similar (sweet, soft, delicious), duck in raspberry sauce. Lots of fun things to try and a good selection of meats, which is not usual for the Rome area. Overall a truly positive experience, I would definitely reccomend trying this restaurant. Just a few notes: all my dishes seemed to have strawberries in them, from the antipasto all the way to the dessert, I like fruit, and I guess clients get a kick out of it so maybe it's a smart move, but I thought it was a little weird. The wine list which was pretty decent didn't have years for the wines, that's not too cool, you need the years, it makes a big difference. The room is a bit dark, you feel like you're in a cellar, but to the owners' credit they decorated well in order to compensate and the tables are cozy.

Located in the town's historical center, it's worth a visit to La Segreta just to roam around the cobbled streets and piazzas. Came here for Sunday lunch to find it busy, and obviously popular with the locals. Had cocoa ravioli with hare sauce (chose this pasta among others because unusual), traditional grilled 'tagliata di manzo' and a chococate concoction with pistachio cream filling. The ravioli was tasty but the pasta was overdone. The tagliata was served rare as ordered but could have used a touch more seasoning. The dessert was inventive (the chocolate bombe opening after the hot chocolate sauce was poured over it). Rated as 'Average' because 'Good' isn't an option.

Ambiente accogliente, cibo di qualita', carne alla griglia, forno a legna. Cucina della tradizione romana. Terrazza all'aperto.
Ferragosto a menu fisso.

Having had a very good experience years back, when we were on a family trip, we made an effort to return here. What a disappointment!!The fixed menu offered almost no choice- 2 very basic and unappetising dishes. We preferred a la carte. We waited nearly half an hour before one of the two (overworked) waiters even addressed us. There was only one menu in English and none of the staff spoke anything but Italian. However we managed to understand and be understood: one person in our party is fluent in Italian having studied here for two years, and besides, this is our eighth trip to Italy (so we had some idea of what can be expected...).Some of the dishes were OK, some not so much... But my issue was with the management who took us for naive, undiscerning tourists (not to say downright idiots), who would eat whatever would be put in front of them. In one instance they threw together some dry biscotti and stale yellow cream and told us this is Teramisso. Really?!

Posto carino, buoni gli hamburger e anche le insalate sono fatte con prodotti freschi e di qualità .A mio avviso un po troppo caro per la tipologia di piatti.
