Just had wonderful quick dinner at this place we found with Trip Advisor. We wanted a break from the usual Italian restaurants. Took a burger and the other huge sandwich which its photos are shown here already. Everything was just great. Meat was very well made, and the bread is soft and crispy at the same time. Excellent place to stop by. Trust me.

Nice atmosphere, cute location, straight forward Italian "family style" cuisine. Fish dishes are specially good. Packed on weekends.

The restaurant is located in a small mountain town with a little scenic castle sitting on top. While slightly dilapidated, the town was buzzing with activity the Sunday we were here. We had planned to have lunch in more touristy Bolsena after visiting Antica Monterano (a spectacular ruin), but decided to take a chance and drove here without a restaurant picked out. We parked in the main square and soon stumbled across Ristorante La Caballera. Itâs a large restaurant with covered seating in front and more seating inside. Our rough-around-the-edges sever was friendly and efficient but no English was spoken here (not that we needed it). Only a few locals were eating when we arrived with no tourists in sight. We started with sparkling water and the red house wine. The wine had a rich purplish color and came served in a liter bottle with no label. It tasted really good. We ordered a bruschetta as an antipasti. The tomatoes were unchilled (good) and it was drizzled in tasty olive oil (also good), but it lacked rubbed garlic on the toasted bread and no sprinkling of salt (both not good). For our main dish, we ordered spaghetti with olio and peperincino and homemade fettuccine with pomodoro sauce. Both dishes were very good. We did have to ask for the parmesan cheese and olive oil which were quickly brought to the table. Portions are large and prices are lower than average. The menu is extensive and handwritten. Our only real complaint is that we were served day old âSundayâ bread. We liked the authentic local feel of this old-fashioned restaurant and the food and wine were good too. We recommend stopping here if you want to enjoy a meal way outside the tourist zone.

Firstly let me say that this is not a fast food restaurant. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else. This is because the pizza here is somewhat different from the usual. The base is more like a foccacio, slightly thicker and lighter and is cooked slowly. Watching the ladies preparing and cooking the pizza is an experience in itself. No advance orders are taken and local people make up most of the customers. Only margarita was on the menu but it is the best margarita you will ever taste.

Good looking restaurant, lots of choice, very friendly owner/chef Maria in this hill top town not too far from Rome and Tarquinia. We had tagliatelle with home made wild boar sauce and my husband had pasta al boscaiolo. We also ordered chicorea, green salad and grilled aubergine and courgette. The tiramisu was beautiful, light and delicious. We paid 29 euro and left happy.
