This was a nice little shop close to our hotel and not too far from the Vatican. The pizza is not too expensive and is very fresh. It's not the classic pizza you would have elsewhere, but it is definitely tasty.

I can see why this restaurant is rated as one of the very best in Rome on TripAdvisor. The atmosphere is great - very much like being invited to a family home for some rather special food.First piece of advice- book! The place benefits from not being large and the tables are really widely spaced. The small number of covers also means you genuinely do get fantastic food cooked by Mama. The other wonderful thing about il Tamburerollo is that you do not feel that they want you in and out as quickly as possible. We booked for 8pm and I do not think they planned to use the table again tonight. We share two starters - both delicious especially the tomatoes with mozzarella. Then we had two unusual main courses- we tried the risotto made with Italian sausage and red wine and three of us had the beef stew under a pizza type crust. Both beautifully cooked and very tasty. Thanks for a great meal with fantastic service- a lovely friendly family atmosphere.Grazie per la graditissima recensione. Siamo e saremo sempre ben lieti ed onorati di avervi fra i nostri migliori clienti.Corrado, Lina, Miles & Co

This place has 20K reviews and a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor. It screams "must try". However, the food was average. It's the outside seating and the hip vibe that makes this place. We arrived on a Monday around 6:45 and waited in line (with complimentary prosecco served as soon as we got inline) for about 15 minutes before we were offered inside seating. It was a bit chilly for Rome, so we went inside. Plus we are not smokers and did not want to chance being closely seated by a smoker. After reading the other reviews, I fell into the trap and ordered the Aperol Spritzer, crispy artichoke and cheese fries to start. This place is very small inside and we sat at the only table for 3 people. The other tables are for 2 and they push them close together. It had a Georgetown, DC vibe. The artichoke was not at all what I expected. It was a bit greasy and it was like eating toasted leaves until you reached the heart-which was more mushy than crispy. It was fun being in an environment where people were enjoying their food and the atmosphere. You can't help but start to enjoy it. My first Aperol spritz and found it to be bitter as intended. (I think the Aperol is bitter). After a few sips, you adjust to the flavor. The fries are served with crumbled white soft cheese. It's a bit off-putting because the cheese does'nt stick to the fries when you lift them up to eat. The lasagne and ravioli were average and we actually had better at the La Canonica around the corner. The standout was the Brushchetta, which was a beautiful display of breads topped with tomatoes, olives, cheese and prosciutto. This was an appetizer that was enough for a full dinner. This alone was worth the experience.

There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from in Trastevere and I can recommend Nannarella for a perfect pasta lunch, seated outdoors near Piaza Santa Maria. The pasta is homemade and the serving (which arrives in a skillet) so generous that we shared. This plus a beer made a very economical and enjoyable lunch. Friendly service too.

Great place for a beer and a snack or for dinner! Great place in TrastevereWe tried the pinza and was delicious!!!! and finally we understood the difference between PIZZA and PINZA: this last one is a similar dough BUT the toppings are added raw on top of the baked base.Karin, our server was great!!!!!!!We will be back for sure before we leave Rome

This is without doubt the best take away pizza in Rome as most Roman will agree. Very small shop, opened only until 7pm with a few flavor, but service is extremely friendly and the taste is unforgettable. Always go back when in Rome.

Within the vibrant, fragrant and picturesque New Testaccio Market you'll find at Box 22 Paola and Andrea that will make you taste their freshly baked pizza created with the utmost care of all the ingredients. The best, fresh and seasonal ingredients that
Went to the market at Testaccio, heard it was a great farmers market. It was really nice if we had space in our hotel to store all the meat and veggies, that were available. Many stalls serve food, one is this Casa manco. The pizza was selling so fast we end up with sun dried tomatoes, and the other was anchovies with squashing blossoms. The anchovy one just too strong for us.But the crust is so great.
