We were hungry at lunch but didnât want a heavy, complicated ristorante type A-Z meal. Since we were in the neighborhood we found RPMLL. What a treat! Foccacia to start, with a cipolla topping. Excellent salad, fantastic pizza: perfect crust, exceptional sauce, highest quality mozzarella... fine quality olive oil and tasty balsamic vinegar... chased down with local Lambrusco. Topped off with lemoncello and an unbelievable cherry liquor which we were informed was 42% alcohol. The interior is a bit tacky. Donât let that put you off. Hungry? Go! Closed Mondays.

This was the finest food and best service I've experienced in a long, long time, and that comes after nearly three decades of traveling the world on business. Food was excellent--"pillows" hot and beautifully cooked, antipasta wonderful with many different dishes, pasta course excellent, second course the same. Light but delicious desserts. Staff speaks virtually no English, but tried very hard, and successfully, to explain options and help with choices. The price--at least to us Americans--was astonishingly reasonable. Olive oil was the best I've ever had, and wine excellent. My wife's lamb was a bit too thin but tasty, my beef filet perfectly sized and cooked. It was so difficult to find--small road to right of very large abandoned hangar-like building--that we nearly gave up, but didn't, and glad we didn't.

Che dire, quando veniamo qui ci sentiamo coccolati e viziati.... Servizio impeccabile, accoglienza famigliare e si mangia divinamente. Cosa volere di più da un ristorante? Imperdibile

I am so happy to be the first English speaking person to review this restaurant. If you speak little or no Italian and were intimidated to go to a locals only type restaurant because the menu was all in Italian and the waitstaff spoke no English, you have no worries here. This restaurant provided one of the nicest dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. Actually it's the two nicest dining experiences since we went back three nights later for a second dinner. This restaurant scored five stars in all three categories, ambience, staff and food. Now this is not to say that this restaurant had the best ambience we've ever experienced, or the best service, or the best food. However, it did so well in a combination of all three, it is a top choice. The ambience of the restaurant was very quaint. The dining area consists on one smaller room and one larger L-shaped room. The rooms are nicely decorated and are spotlessly clean, as was the restroom. The tables are set with white linen tablecloths along with a tin of olive oil and a bottle of vinegar. Also on the table is a complimentary bowl of salad and rolls. The restaurant is owned and operated by two sisters. Lorenza handles the front end. She greets you when you enter and takes your order. She also serves the food, but she does also have a server. Our first night dining here was a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. Lorenza was quite busy. Nevertheless she spent ample time with us to explain the menu and answer our questions. She was very attentive to us and always had a smile and very endearing demeanor.Emanuela is the chef. We did not meet her, but we very much enjoyed all the food she prepared. Both times my wife had as her first course the duck ravioli. If the restaurant did take out she would have gotten another order to go. She also had the steak tartare which was excellent. I had a pasta dish one night and a lamb dish the other evening. Again, both were excellent. The portions were just the right size for us, and were a very good value. The restaurant is open for lunch and our only regret was we were never around at that time to try it. We give this ristorante the highest recommendation, and Traversetolo is a quaint little town to visit!
