Everything from the macaroni, to the fresh spinach, to the steak and goat we had for secondi was superb. The owner provided very good service and checked in with us to ensure we were enjoying our meal. When we return to Bova, we will surely visit this establishment again. Thank you!

Every year is a fixed event in our calabrese's holiday. The place is nice for is location on the beach, the fish is almost alive and the service is quick and friendly. The balance between the quality and the price is impressive. Really recommended if you spend your holiday in the "gelsomini's cost".

This is the second time we have been here during a two weeks stay, we have really enjoyed both visits. The ambience is great, the staff are lovely, the drinks were great and the nibbles/canapés were even better, would recommend to anyone!

Con degli amici abbiamo scelto questo locale che non mi ha lasciato un'impressione positiva. Ho optato per un antipasto ed una grigliata mista. Il primo formato da un insalata di farro ( pesce dove ?) , una zucchina grigliata ( ???) , un tortino di zucchine ( buono , ma il pesce? ) , un insalata di polipo ed una polpettina di pesce ( sfido chiunque a riconoscere il sapore). Il pesce spada ed il gamberone della grigliata alquanto discutibili , da salvare solo l'occhiata.Buoni i vini auto - prodotti; servizio cordiale , ma abbastanza approssimativo ( le posate se si presenta il pesce vanno cambiate tra un pasto ed un altro ; non è una pizzeria).Complessivamente nonostante sia da apprezzare la buona volontà , non riesco a dare un voto sufficiente

Una meraviglia!! Il paese, lâaccoglienza, il cibo. La genuinità delle donne di questa bella famiglia che ti accolgono a casa loro con gentilezza e spontaneità . Il cibo meravigliosamente locale. Siamo stati due sere di fila, oltre agli ottimi, vari e abbondantissimi antipasti (in caso se ne volesse ancora non esitare a chiedere) assolutamente calabresi e fatti da loro in casa, la prima sera abbiamo mangiato i maccheroni col sugo âsempliceâ (ottimo pomodoro piccantino con ricotta salata, piatto così abbondante che Elisa ci ha preparato il cartoccio per il pranzo del giorno dopo al mare) la seconda sera abbiamo assaggiato la capra, sia nei maccheroni che in umido. Buonissima, dolce, tenera e delicata. Vino rosso della casa, buono. I prezzi sono veramente bassi ed il rapporto qualità /prezzo molto elevato!Sicuramente, la prossima volta che saremo da quelle parti torneremo a salutare Elisa, la dolce Paola e la nonna. Consigliatissimo!!!

I have lived in Calabria for one and a half years and eaten out a lot. This place is amazing - the best so far. Alba cooked everything from scratch mostly using ingredients grown by herself, or her family, and all grown in the surrounding area. We went for an evening meal. FANTASTIC antipasti - all sorts of local/ home cured meats cheeses, typical pitta calabrese (specific to the Grecanico area), local honey, parmagiana di melanzane, fresh beans, rice/ grans salad, fritelle. Then homemade pasta with ragu/ capretto, then fried capretto cutlets (wow!), even the oven baked potatoes had so much flavour. Then (homemade) strawberry semifreddo. The restaurant also has a terrace overlooking the town, it's just beautiful. In fact the evening as a whole was so beautiful we returned two days later for lunch and were not disappointed. This time the pasta was sugo di pomodoro with a pesto made with basil and pistachios. It was all delicious all over again. Alba is a real legend.The town is the perfect place to walk off very full stomachs. It tumbles down the side of a hill with lots of little piazze to enjoy views down the valley and to the sea. Staiti is a typical Calabrian inland town, its population used to number 4000 but now is 180. In other words it's a piece of history. I'm told the whole place comes alive again in the summer with family returning, especially for the Festa di Sant'Anna. There are also Byzantine churches in the valley beneath the town.Note: you need to ring and book a table before turning up.

Lido sulla spiaggia. Questo ha già un valore notevole. Basterebbe per motivare la visita. Locale con tanta gente, buon segnale.Linguine allo scoglio discrete ma molto disomogenee nella gestione del prodotto. Gamberi crudi, buone cozze, buona cottura ed intingolo. Seppie arrosto molto rivedibili. Buono il gelatoServizi disastroso. Sul mare non ti aspetto faville, però un minimo...

Ja auf den ersten Eindruck vielleicht nicht so einladend aber die Terasse direkt am Meer ist wunderbar und das Essen hat überzeugt. Freundliche Bedienung moderate Preise gute Portionen. Paccheri con Polpo, Marinierte Enchiovis, Cozze Pepate, Seeeolf und Dorade vom feinsten. Die Family war sehr positiv überrascht!

Came back for a pizza and even though the setting is the same the food lacked passion and taste I'm afraid. The menu has changed slightly and unfortunately it shows in the eating. The staff are all friendly but I'm afraid it could be the last time we visit here as other restaurants are now popping up with good reviews.
