Upon arrival we thought ....how come there is such a large restaurant in the middle of nowhere....and when we walked in there were very few people in this large traditional restaurant .....But ... What a fab meal we had... Traditional gorgeous seafood....and wonderful service .... One waitress who worked so so hard and made sure we had a fabulous night out ....By the time we left the restaurant was really busy ..... And quite right too.... In the area... Make a booking ... You won't be disappointed

We arrived at just after 8.30. There were two other diners, tourists, like ourselves. we are staying at the magnolie resort which is beautiful, but this restaurant by the same owners really let's it down. The welcome was non existent, the waiter bored and uninterested, no eye contact, nothing. we felt like we were not important, just a nuisance! The service was so slow, the staff really not caring, except the lady who smiled and tried to be helpful. We waited for some time , maybe 30 minutes to be served, we found this odd as there was only one other couple in the restaurant. The food we ordered was quite simple. spaghetti vongole, and swordfish. The spaghetti was a hit, but the swordfish was dry and the rosti potatoes were burnt to an acrid crisp. We ordered a tomato salad and a mixed salad and asked for them to come before the main course, this did not happen, they did not arrive at all, so, we cancelled them. The problem here seemed to be one of complete indifference to the customer, the waiter, was surly and inattentive, the waitress expressed surprise when the salads failed to arrive. A big disappointment, and an expensive restaurant to boot. Shame it is a nice building, and a nice restaurant, but as far as the food and staff were concerned, we were not there. We were not approached at any time during the meal to ask us if all was good, instead, the waiter made several visits to the nearby bar to drink from his bottle of "water" and outside to smoke.. The waitress could be heard talking animatedly on her phone just outside. Perhaps we caught them on an off-night, but perhaps I am being kind to think so?

Large internal hall and outdoor veranda, use of local products, large menu, large cellar of white and red wines
After walking a lot at Modica and building up an appetite, there's nothing better than the Egopizza restaurant where the delicious pizzas can only be compared to the friendly service...

If you think to spend a nice time with your friends eating seafood in a new way, this restaurant is the place for you! Friendly atmosphere, nice setting, and, above all, delicious fish served as a series of dishes/starters to taste. Icing on the cake, after an infinite succession of a perfect combination of sea and country tastes they will also serve you a seafood based first course with homemade pasta. A fine "Nzolia" white wine is perfectly matched with the dishes. Last but not least, it's value for money. So, try and enjoy it!The only flaw it's its placement. It's not just near at hand, beautifully set in the countryside around the town of Modica.

Nestled in an ancient stronghold located in Val di Noto, Unesco World Heritage, Villa Gaia is the ideal venue for a holiday in close contact with nature, just outside the enchanting baroque settings of Modica, Noto, Ragusa and Scicli. The overpowering swe
We visited this place for a short stay in Sicily with friends. The place was clean and staff very friendly and accommodating. Incredible views of the Sicilian countryside. Great location to explore the southern part of Sicily. Definitely recommended to have dinner there. The food is delicious, especially their antipasto. Large portions and good value for money.

We ate here on 3 separate occasions during a recent stay in Modica and it was close to our accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed each visit, sharing pizzas picked from an extensive pizza menu. The non-pizza menu is a limited selection but still offers something for everyone with steak, fish and veggie options. Diverse wine list and most helpful waiting staff.

We went twice, which says something, as it provided good quality "ordinary" Italian food, with a huge array of pizzas to choose from. And it's in a good spot to watch the world go by. The service is good enough, if not sensational, but the paying system is a little mad, and slowed down by the hoards of local teenagers ordering take aways.

We stayed in Modica for a week and ate here three times! One of them take away pizza. The staff are very friendly and helpful, itâs always busy and the food is really tasty! Itâs hidden away down a back alley and we probably wouldnât have found it, but we were recommended it by our air bnb owner.

If you don't speak English this is a difficult place. Plus Google maps takes you in entirely the wrong direction. We met an Italian couple at the 'wrong' location and fortunately a local person told them where to go and we followed. When you do find it don't be surprised. It is not typical. It's very modern looking. And the service is wierd. Apparently only one of the staff takes orders and the others deliver the orders!!!! It is just Pizza so don't expect a salad or anything other that Pizza. The Pizza is good but definitely not the best in Italy. The vegetable Pizza was a highlight - excellent. So yes give it a go if you feel like Pizza but be prepared for something different.
