Quaint little restaurant near the beach with a really nice menu. The paella was exceptional and loved the fact that the owners are involved as host and chef. Well worth the excursion. Personas hermosas en lugares hermosos.
During my recent trip to Costa Rica, I visited Roca Ballena a number of times and tried much of the menu. I enjoyed the best ceviche I have ever tasted there. The Ceviche Roca Ballena and the Ceviche Mixto were both superb, with perfectly seasoned and marinated seafood. The Camarones con Arroz was loaded with large shrimp cooked to perfection and deliciously seasoned. The Filete al ajillo was delicious, with a sweet fish flavored with plenty of garlic. The Camarones al Ajillo was beautifully prepared and presented, as was the Cola de Langosta. They were both incredibly flavorful meals. I also tried a number of the Naturales drinks. Fruit blended with either water or milk and ice. Sugar could be added, but I preferred the natural fruit taste. They were refreshing and perfect accompaniments for the delicious seafood. This is truly a "can't miss" restaurant if you are anywhere in the area of the southwestern coast of Costa Rica.

The ceviche was tough and the fish didn't seem fresh. Service ok. There were two other couples there. Ate at several other places in the area and this was the worst. I usually go to sodas and local spots for bocas and beer but wouldn't return to this one...

Mexican food in Uvita, come and enjoy our Tacos
Group of 4 came here for dinner. We sat by the bar side where it is more lighted. We ordered chicken, carnita, al pastor, and fish tacos. The chicken was dry and fish was just ok. Al pastor was definitely the winner.

Searching for an amazing culinary experience in the Rain Forest? Rancho Ceilo Alto is not to be missed. This hidden gem offers a Unique and Delicious Farm to Table experience. Nestled into the jungle, overlooking the Pacific Ocean this beautiful open-air Rancho has true Costa Rican charm. Owner and chef JazmÃn GodÃnez, presents a food experience like no other. The 4-course presentation includes integration of ingredients from her on-site garden and local organic farmers. Each dish is prepared with love over and open fire and includes layers of flavors as well as edible and medicinal plants. I was blown away by the level of technique used for each preparation and presentation. Not only is the food amazing, but Jazmin welcomes you like family. From the time that you arrive until the time you leave Jazmin is explaining each presentation including the benefits of the medicinal plants included. Definitely an experience not to be missed. Note; reservations required. In addition to dining, Jazmin also offers cooking classes using local ingredients and techniques. Also included is use and explanation of edible and medicinal plants.Thank you
