The food at Gondola is very good. The service, even better. We had lunch and a couple of evening meals here, during our holiday in late November. We ate in the restaurant one evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The portion sizes were just right, the choices reasonable and the presentation beautiful. It was expensive, but we enjoyed the food and the experience and so didn't mind paying a little extra. We ordered room service from Gondola to Hotel Plaza Yara one evening. The food delivered was nice, but not really worth the price when out of the ambience of the restaurant. We do not recommend this.Gondola offer pool side snacks and drinks at Hotel Plaza Yara. Again, the service is very professional, friendly and unobtrusive. The lunch menu is more limited but very good. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you are not on a tight budget!

We stopped based on the reviews and Emilios did not disappoint. My daughter had the sandwich and it was so good we bought another to take to the park with us. We asked for extra curry sauce and she dipped her sandwich in it and made it even better.I had the sea bass with mashed potatoes, vegetables and curry sauce. After picking myself up off the floor after the first bite, I agree with the other reviewers. This was out of this world good. I am salivating as I write this review just thinking about it. Do they mail their food to the USA? So good.I wish we had room for dessert, but sadly did not. A must stop when in Manuel Antonio.

One of the best if not THE best restaurant in Matapalo. The charming duo of Daniel and Darlenny are serving up some of the tastiest food in the area. You only have to hear Daniel recite the menu to get the mouth juices flowing. The salads are made with all fresh ingredients including crisp lettuces, and crunchy cucumbers. The Wienerschnitzel accompanied by either French fries, home fries or cold German potato salad is out of this world! My dinner companion feasted on a pork roast, simmered for hours in a broth made that day in heaven and sent directly to their kitchen. A Luigi Bosca Malbec was the perfect recommendation for our meal.Getting there: Driving south on Rt. 34 toward Dominical take the right at exit marked âRio Matapaloâ. Drive to the end of the short road, turn left. The restaurant will be ahead on the right side of the road. A yellow, red and black Imperial beer sign with the restaurant name, El Express del Pacifico.Coming from Dominical driving north on Rt. 34, at Hacienda Baru drive (approximately 11 km) 8-9 minutes. Look for a stop sign on left of the road and a sign with âsupermercadoâ. Turning left crossing the road go onto an unpaved dirt road. Pass a ball field on the right. Cross a short bridge ~ youâve arrived. The restaurant will be ahead on the right side of the road. A yellow, red and black Imperial beer sign with the restaurant name. Enjoy your dinner. Prepare to be amazed! Delicious food and smoothies. We had the falafel sandwich and shawarma platter and also took advantage of a smoothie and popsicle. Everything was fresh, tasty, and quickly prepared. The self-serve salad/toppings bar was a great touch and a nice way to customize your meal to your liking. The location is super convenient - a cute, fun spot to spend some time and eat a budget-friendly and delicious meal!
