Reviews on Costa Rican food in Puerto Jimenez, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. For eco-tourists who crave adventure there are few places better than Parque Nacional Corcovado, a biodiverse smorgasbord of tropical rainforest, coastline and wildlife. Puerto Jimenez is a great base for those who wish to explore the park via one of several local touring companies, but it’s also got its own thing going on, including an impressive wildlife sanctuary, some lovely restaurants and an excellent local crafts shop.

During my 2 months stay in Puerto Jimenez, I often had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Hellen's Chill House. They have an elaborate menu, offering plenty of tasty dishes, vegetarian hamburgers, typical costa rican dishes, fresh salads, wraps, quesadillas, .... The home-made bread and pastries are to die for! They also have some great take-away options! Highly recommended :)
The beef is all natural, local grass fed, very tender and smooth. Try it in a stir fry, Chinese style as the owners are from southern china. They speak Spanish, a little English, mandarin, and Cantonese. The portions are very generous and the menu amazingly varied with Chinese dishes, tico dishes, and even American food. The beef with onions was excellent. They will also go off menu at the blink of an eye whether for food or for a different type of drink. Prices are very good and a bit below the area average. Located in mid town about a block from the police station.
Delicious combination of national and international dishes of the best cuisine in the world. Specialty in imported thin cuts, and great variety of dishes such as tuna, octopus, salmon, fish filet, chicken filet, hamburgers. In addition to wines, cocktails
The Steakhouse and Grill Corcovado is located in the old Las Islas restaurant. Las Islas was recently sold and the motel and restaurant are separate entities. It is not open for breakfast, only lunch and dinner. I had one meal there on my trip to Pt Jimenez. I had the rib eye and it was very good. I asked Marvin where they bought the beef and he said it was imported. It was much more tender than the usual local beef.

We were in PJ twice and found ourselves near this place so we checked it out. While nothing special, the food is okay, but gigantic portions! Both times we could not finish. I had the chicken and rice both times and it was served with salad and fries. The rice was a bit over done, as though it had been sitting a while, but it really fills you up. Service was good and many people go there. You can probably find cheaper, but where we were, we could not. And it was not too expensive. If you are hungry, this place is for you.

The Pearl is a public restaurant on the Osaâs most beautiful beach, next to and part of Iguana Lodge. Offering gorgeous ocean views and fresh drinks, the Pearl provides excellent fresh eclectic lunches and dinners to the public, such as Gloria's Burrito,
We had dinner at Pearl of the Osa 4 nights and several lunches there as well. Everything we had was great from appetizers to entrees to frozen fruit drinks. The service was great even on a night the power was out for a period of time. Friday night Pasta night was very good! Thanks Gabriel and staff for a great experience.

After getting a flat tire and being rescued by a nice young man whose family owned a business in Puerto Jimenez, we decided to give their resturant a try. Good decision. The food was good and plentiful. The service was great and respectful. The location, right on the water on the gulf.

Nice atmosphere, and the owners make their own pasta. Nice view of the ocean, and you can have an umbrella drink. What can be better?

I came to this place because it was second on TripAdvisor, though it was not in my guide. The food was good, but when it came to the bill, they overcharged me and to hide that, gave me a piece of paper with only the total (not the detail). I understand that there is 10% tax added, but it still didnât add up, so I asked for the detail and basically they had overcharged my two glasses of white wine by CRC 1â000 each. Now granted, the price was crossed out on the menu, but I actually asked why and whether they had white wine, and was told it was all good. He could have told me of a price change then. I think itâs a pity for such a nice place to spoil the entire experience by not being honest to their customers. Because, if I had been told, Iâd have been quite happy paying that extra.. itâs just being taken for a dumb tourist which gets on my nerves. I would therefore not recommend this place because the dishonesty makes one feel cheated and low, though the food is actually good.

Our restaurant is a cozy and rustic place accompanied with excellence in our meals. Excellent attention and very good prices. We will also have special nights accompanied by learning about the Costa Rican culture and accompanied by very good live music. W
