Forentum is located down in the old center of Lavello. The restaurant is located underground and is very characteristic with it's carved out walls and narrow staircases. Food is also exceptional. Many varieties of local cuisines and dishes are offered. On this evening, we only had pizza and appetizers, which were both very good. I've been here during other occasions and food is always very good. I highly recommend visiting Forentum if you are in the Basilicata / Puglia area. I will definitely return next time I'm in LavelloThank you for the wonderful review, augrandole a new return in our restaurant, a greeting from ItalyF&b ManagerSavino Di Noia
Ottimo tutto... Ci rivedremo presto.
Small room with a very special decor and a lot of details. Its location is unique, in the arcades in Piazza Umberto I, 34 in front of the majestic Castello Pirro del Balzo di Venosa (PZ). It proposes typical local products, handicraft breakfast croissants
Top service. Best coffee, everything ok,Very nice Bistro on Piazza UmbertoExcellent salads and panini
We are in one of the most beautiful squares of Italy. Here you will enjoy our traditional cuisine from Basilicata for a light lunch: salads, fruit and vegetable extracts, milk shakes, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, wraps, baguettes, tea infusions and natu

First, this is located in Maschito and not Vaglio; almost an hour drive separates these two towns. This agriturismo was recommended by the anagrafe office at the comune. We are indebted to that official! For lunch our group of 5 started with the antipasti plates, five plates in total. All were exquisite and local dishes. We then had 2 pasta samples - fresh cheese and tomatoes on one and the traditional Lucanian lamb sauce on the other. We finisihed with fresh fruit and home-made digestivi. Our meal was complimented by a wine from a winery in Maschito (very good aglianico). We were all comfortably full when we finished. The owner has spent time in England and speaks decent English. He is very accommodating and pleasant.I would make a reasonable detour to return to this agriturismo as it was one of the best meals we have had here in Italy. Complimenti!

Very large pizzeria on the outskirts of venosa. We all had the pizza and I would highly recommend it. Pizza maker is an award winning pizzaiolo. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Will return

We stayed 3 nights at the agriturismo and we almost never eat at he same place again. But here.... the food is so good here, we had 3 diners at night (Italians eat very late, starting after 20:00 hours) and one lunch. The appertizer from the house with local specialities is a visit worth: buffel mozzarella, fresh fish, some salami, fried flowers.... all very tastefull. The maincourses are fresh, well cooked, the pizza's thin and crusty with (again) fresh toppings. The staff very friendly, and after diner home made cherry liqueur. In you stay here or in the neighbourhood and you like amazing Italian food, this is THE place to be.

Located on 'the other side' of the Venosa Castle, you'd never fund it if locals wouldn't point you in the right direction. They have great outdoor seating, overlooking the back of the castle. Inside it's decorated in a modern style. Modern Italian that is. Or rather, modern small town Italian. This modernity is not reflected in the food. Actually most locals come here for the pizzas. We had a regular meal; nothing wrong with it, all fine, but somehow unremarkable. As a matter of fact I don't remember what we had off the menu. So again, nothing wrong with the place, but not particularly memorable.
