An "Asador" is a restaurant cooking traditional foods on a wood fire. Javier, the owner, masters the art of using this difficult technique to make incredibly delicious fresh fish recipes, fantastic meats from the region and even memorable paella and fabada. Very friendly service makes this experience very unique in this simple set-up. We went twice in a week!

A colleague recommended this place, and we were not disappointed. The tasting menu offered a seemingly never ending array of small beautifully presented and very tasteful dishes. We loved how the kitchen each time managed to bring out the crispness and freshness of the ingredients. Service was in the beginning a bit stroppy, but got friendly as we progressed in our dinner. Interesting was that we were given a timeframe for our lunch (2hrs15mins for the tasting menu) which was kept, even though we didn't ask for it. The setting is somewhat formal, but the views are great. A pleasant surprise was the final bill, where "extras" such as the bottled water and glasses of wine were charged at very decent prices. We had the pleasure to meet the chef after dinner, who explained us the philosophy of his cooking and especially also the sourcing of the ingredients, from local small producers that apply the rules of biodynamic farming. We'd love to come back!

Restaurante - tapas
I recently found my relatives in Spain--my grandfather came from Spain. The first restaurant that my cousins took us to was this one because they said it is typical. Our cousin ordered for all of us--Chorizo, jabon, pulpo (octopus), mariscos (mussels), beef tips and pasta. All of the dishes were served family style for sharing which is great because you get to try all the different dishes. One of my cousins said the pulpo was a little piquante, but it was very mild to me, not nearly as spicy as typical Mexican food.. The mussels were served with a delicious sauce--we were all dipping bread in that sauce! There was a variety of desserts served, they were all good. My cousin told me the room where we ate used to be where they kept animals--to heat the house in winter--the people lived above the room where they kept the animals! My favorite was probably the octopus (pulpo) and the mussels--the desserts were good but I am not a big dessert fan.,

I went back last month again to this restaurant, had a 1kg Beef chop and the meat was great as usual, and the wine (king of a very dark, strong, young red wine from Galicia) was great for this kind of dinner.Dinner for two including wine and desert â¬60,00The place looks very clean, I will certainly go back again next time around the area.

A Illa is hidden on a side road, a bit from the sea and it does not have a seaside view. So you will not find many tourist there (I like that). A Illa specialises in seafood but of course there's more in the menu. We tried steamed mussels, octopus in Galician style (pulpo a la Gallega) plus croquettes with jamon and fried padron peppers. Cannot say a bad word about food as everything we ordered was very tasty. Local was filling up as we were having dinner and some guests seemed to visit that place regularly as they were ordering even without looking into menu. So definetely a good sign. The place was lacking the lively ambience of big cities dineries and as a consequence seemed bit more formal. Anyway, it was a very good culinary experience. Our bill came to roughly 25 euros. Good value.
Reasonable food quality, with lots of options in a wonderful spot at Foxos beach. Also great if you just want to.have a drink with friends before lunch or before sunset.Good and fast service.Tip: book your place 30 minutes before (just write your name in the blackboard they have)

You really have to go to this restaurant when you love to eat and you love fresh and perfect cooked BIG(!) and simpel dishes. The main reason why they urn my 5 stars is because the food is of very good quality, fresh from the fishmarket in the morning. For seafood and fish, that's rally important. The potatoos are fresh, not out of the refrigerator. Also the meat is cooked to perfection in a real wooden oven. The 'boey' is cooked so it has a nice color, you bake it yourself, the way you like to eat it, on 2 hot plates of stone. A very nice experience! My friend took the ribs, that you got in one whole piece, so that you are sure they didnt took left overs from an other table. Some dishes, like home rooster, you have to order in advance. We loved the home made white house wine (albariño) and you can see the wine trees in the garden. Leave some place for a desert, they are all home made by the lady of the house. The cheese cake (â¬2,50) is my absolute favorite! When you take a coffee, they will ask you if you like a home made shot ( e.g. Coffee licor,..). Furthermore, the service is very good, they are friendly against all customers, dressed good and know the basic principles of service. However, somethimes they can not hide their spanish temprament inside the kitchen, and as customer you can sometimes hear some noise from the kitchen, but for me, that is a part of being in spain. It's a pitty, In contrast to other restaurants in sanxenxo they don't have sea view and they are a little hidden. But there is a nice garden, terras and there is a little playground for children and in summer season they are open all days (lunch and diner), in the rest of the year they close on monday evening. I hope you will enjoy this restaurant the same like i did!

This place has been extended recently, and is always busy. A lovely setting by the beach, this bar does do food, but I'd recommend it most for the drinks. Some great cocktails, as they're meant to be made, no 25ml measures here!
