We've been here with the kids, we're all calamari fans, we have eaten them a lot in various places in Holland, Belgium, Italy and Morocco. This place was probably the best so far. We had the fried fish (calamari, shrimps, salmon, cod and sardines)with chips. It's basically a fish shop with some tables where you can sit and eat. Don't expect a fancy restaurant or what so ever, it's all about taste. The fish is absolutely fresh and prepared wonderfully. Away from the coast this is very hard to find in Italy, but you should definitely go here to find great fish in Volterra.

The view from the Ponti is unbeatable - looking past the city walls into the valley. The service is also excellent and quite speedy by Italian standards. The menu offers classic dishes from the area including some more unusual ragu sauces (duck, rabbit, etc). While a smaller menu, everything I have had here is quite good. Its also a great place to get an aperitif or to watch the sunset over dinner.

We had a perfect window, right by the open window. We initially took cover here as we were hit by an intense rain storm and were welcomed warmly...another restaurant kicked us out as they were too busy...with only half the tables full.We loved watching the rain roll in and feel the breeze on our faces. The table by the window is the best.We wanted a lighter lunch but when we saw a truffle gnocchi on the menu, we change our mind and went for it. We also had their Margarita pizza (which was super affordable - like 6Euro only). The gnocchi was heaven. Pillowy and rich. We shared it with the group as it is very rich dish...but so worth it!
