Tuscan typical restaurant, friendly atmosphere with wide roof where you can taste deliciousness of our area
We visited Il Rosso Della Paola as a big party to celebrate my grandparentsâ diamond wedding. Even with a table of twelve of us, the service was very quick, super friendly, and the food was wonderful; real Tuscan cuisine with an emphasis on truffles in a lot of the dishes, which was lovely. I was especially a fan of the rabbit cooked on a low heat which was the most tender meat Iâve ever tasted!Dear Chris, thank you for your review, we are pleased to know your opinion about our cuisine and our staff. We hope to have you as guests again. Best wishes to you grandparents!

Super small Osteria, total of 4 tables inside and a large terrace outside with 15 tables (was rainy the day we went so glad we called 30 minutes ahead to reserve) in the outskirts of tiny Lari. Very typical Tuscan lunch with everything homemade and grown in their garden. Prices are local, so half of what you pay in Florence or Pisa. This is not a fancy place but so no 5 stars but an incredible find with us being the only tourists. We started out with a wonderful Tuscan appetizer for one that we split followed by parpadelle with wild boar that had as much meat as pasta. Great lunch for those who want a truly authentic experience.Bar man spoke some English and we speak some Italian so ordering was not a problem. Hope to be back soon.

We ate dinner here tonight and we had a wonderful evening. The staff were friendly with excellent English and the food was delicious. We sat outside in a gorgeous courtyard on a balmy night. Just magic. I had the steak with balsamic, Parmesan and pine nuts and it was perfectly cooked with soooo much flavour. Hubby had the sliced bistecca with truffles which was generous and delicious. The sides of roast potatoes and mixed salad were yummy too. Highly recommend this little gem.

We're staying in Fauglia and heard good things about this place. They're all true! The pizzas were delicious. Served with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Terrific small town ambience sitting outside in the town square. Very reasonable too.

Today we visited the acclaimed Torre A Cenaia estate which looked beautiful despite the rain. We were shown around and given much interesting information about their wine production. We were then treated to a wine tasting. Thirteen of us were seated at a long table set with a colourful red cloth, plates of sheepâs cheese at different stages of maturity, marinated vegetables, tomato bruschetta, truffle bruschetta, bread and olive oil from the vineyard and, of course, wine glasses. The âtastingsâ were very generous â we tried a white wine, a sparkling wine, two red wines, a dessert wine, accompanied by cantuccini, and Grappa. This was probably the most sociable, convivial wine tasting weâve ever had and our sommelier was very enthusiastic and interesting. More food and wine was offered throughout. We had a little time to spend in the shop. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything but we couldnât resist a couple of bottles of Per Non Dormire (their premier red wine) and a box of their Cantuccini!!

This is the real place where we had a great Sunday lunch in the Osteria. Previosly I've wrongly reviewed the "azienda agricola". The restaurant (Osteria) is part of a bigger old country farm ("azienda agricola") with a nice landscape. We started with "salumi e affettati" together with local cheeses, "pappa al pomodoro" and the special sweet cheese-and-peers. Pasta as first course and local beef in tuscany style ("tagliata di chianina") with side courses. Red wine (local production) and great staff make this place a must to be visited. Take a note e sign on the map...

This little restaurant was just a few hundred yards from where we were staying and came highly recommended by our hostess and she was spot on.We called in to book earlier in the day which was interesting as the lady there spoke as much English as I speak Italian so I made the booking in French but it all went smoothly and when we turned up at eight we were quickly seated and treated to a glass of Prosecco. The service throughout was excellent and so was the food. The four of us shared antipasti to start and then I tucked into rabbit fillet stuffed with truffles which was so tasty. The beef stewed in Chianti was also very good as was the fillet of beef with truffles and a lovely bottle of red went very nicely with it.There was Moscato with the desserts which were again very good and an enjoyable grappa to round things off. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with barrelled ceilings and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm - all the others there appeared to be Italian which seems to be borne out by the other reviews. It was also good value, about £100/125 euros for the four of us.

We had a very nice dinner in Lari. I Burattinai served very good food by kind English speaking personnel. The card was in three languages. Pasta came from next door, Martinelli. The steak with gorgonzola was tasty. The location on top of the wall was top!I recommend this place to all families visiting this awesome area!

Attended this restaurant at a private birthday function for about 30 people and its was an amazing experience with great food. Had the Eggs with Garlic and Truffle which was good, the calamari and squid ink pasta was excellent and for mains the Monkfish was also very good. A selection of desserts out of which the panna cotta was the highlight. The restaurant is tucked away in a very small village but there is plenty of parking and its well worth the visit. Thanks Shan, for his recession.I am happy that he enjoyed my dishes, in this regard , the next time he returns to Tuscany, we can organize a cooking Class , for her and her friend. Thank you. Barbara
