We went here despite the bad reviews of the place. And I am glad we did. The food is really good, wine was good, and cheap. And the people working there was very nice and friendly.

Last week (late May, 2013), I was visiting friends near Piacenza, Emilio Romagna, Italy. This Pizzeria is 2 minutes away from their home. The pizza was wonderful! It comes in an oval shape about 40X20 cm. (±16X8 inches), paper-thin crust, freshly made, and really delicious. I got the standard margharita (sp.?), with tomato sauce, basil, spices and mozzarella cheese. I added bresaola (air-dried beef, cut paper thin), and shaved parmesan cheese. These were both added to the pizza after it was baked, following local style. Then I had a very generous salad. I think I was the only tourist in the place - it is the local eatery where my friends and their neighbours eat. I understand that the meats, pastas and fish are all equally good.

The pizza looks good but I chosed a dock hamburger. Good quality. The Local bier was ok. A lot of space indoor and outdoor. Cosa it tuo can get to Rivergaro. A little nice Local Holiday small town and to have a good icecream.

We had dinner on a busy saturday night. The host was the kindest when instead of 5, we asked to increase our table of 3 seats. the narrow room was already full, but regardless of that, we got a nice and comfortable table.The famous Sparkling Gutturnio "il poggiarello" was the king of our glasses, and it accompanied our dinner from starter to dessert. We all shared cold cuts (the ham was divine), cheeses and bread. The primi were as well all shared: from the famous tortelli con la coda, pisarei e fasò and anolini in brodo, everyone was extremely pleased, included our guests from Milan. To end our meals, as we skipped the secondi, we had a variety of desserts to choose from. My torta imbottita with figs and amaretto was yummy and extremely balanced. Complimentary Nocino called the whole dinner a wrap. We had amazing food and quite too many bottles of wine for 27 euro each. We went out happy and satisfied!This place isn't pretentious but fair: the turnover of food will never make anything old and it's definitely a great option for traditional piacenza food.

We had dinner here on a super cold sunday night. As a few other reviews said...a bit anonymous and not so cozy. The area inside could be improved, because the main feeling is a bit like entering a canteen, with green horizontal stripes and very strong and bright lights. The menu is simple, easy and honest. I had pisarei: my plate was huge but the taste wasn't much there.The thing is: i would support 100% a nice, simple and budget restaurant, but i can't see the study, the efforts. Even if a place is cheap, there's bazillion of things that can be done to make it unique.Ill try it again on the outdoors when the summer comes.

On the night of our arrival in Rivalta, Italy, our Italian cousins took us to La Ghisona for pizza and bruschetta. It was likely the best pizza and bruschetta that we have ever had. The northern Italy style pizza is made with a thin crust, which we prefer over the standard American stuffed pizza. Anyway, couple that pizza with La Ghisona local beer or wine and you have a terrific meal. We liked it so much that we went there for the next three consecutive Friday nights, as well. Most tourists will never find La Ghisona because it is located in a rural area not usually frequented by travelers. However, if you are ever in the Rivalta-Gazzola area be sure to have a pizza at La Ghisona!

This was a great surprise as I had eaten here years ago and it was very sad and depressing!!!But all that has changed. The staff are young and friendly.My pizza was great. The waitress recommended the 'integrale' pizza, I was unsure as sometimes it can be heavy. It was delicious, really added another level of flavour to the pizza. The toppings were all very fresh.Sitting outside in the piaza, in the sunshine also added to the experience.I'll definitely go back again.We are very happy that you appreciated our pizza and our friendly staff service.Thank you a lotDaniela

We opted for this pizzeria as its well known as one of the best in the valley. I was there many years ago but i barely remembered it. The restaurant is actually a house, cozy and simple. A few more efforts could be made to improve the finishing of the place, but i reckon it is their will to keep it that way. There's a wide choice of pizzas, all the products origins are specified on the menu. A few specials of the day/week make definitely the list of most recommended. A nice choice of crafts beers complete the uniqueness of the offers this pizzeria has.Pizzas are made to order and in front of you. I can say for sure that their doughts is one of the best i have ever tasted and overall their pizza is amazing.Prices are just a tiny bit over the average, but you definitely know where that extra money is going, and its worth it!Congrats and keep it this way!
