This place is a triumph of understated traditional Tuscan Cuisine. The highlights of the evening was the hand rolled Pici with just a hint of anchovy, balanced beautifully with lemon zest. And then there was the Gnocci with sage butter, this dish was a house special for the night... this Gnocci was beautifully light clouds of joy and the sauce was something to remember, so simple, so well balanced and so good. Service was attentive, fast and unpretentious with a flair to support local wine that complemented our dishes well and proved an elegant pairing - all in all a wonderful experience. Put this in your list of restaurants to visit in Tuscany!

We spend part of every summer in Tuscany; without variation, our first evening finds us dining at Osteria Etrusca, a delightful family-run business on the main via in this charming village, complete with its own Etruscan museo. We return often - the food is excellent, cooked by the lovely daughter Stephania, the ambiance is serene presided over by the gentle owner Enrico, and the wine superb. After a frenetic day at the Uffizi or other Tuscan gem, we make a path to this delightful Osteria at the end of the day. Try the pici pasta and the wonderful pizzas. Or even better, the sliced beef with arugula and Parmesan.

Outstanding food, ambience and service. The restaurant was within a two minute walk from our flat and so very, very convenient. The wine was excellent and very inexpensive. Highly recommend this restaurant. English spoken there.

Its always a good sign where you're the only tourist in the place. They serve pretty good steaks and sausages - cooked perfectly. We had a bone-in- rib eye and Salciche's which was perfect and a minute steak - but it was too dry. Pasta's are great - local tastes, fresh - lovely! Cheap, tasty and local.Beware - they open between 12:00 - 14:30. Even if you still sit there, they close the kitchen...

Quick lunch while driving from Rome to Milan. I stopped with my family. We had traditional bruschetta, pappardelle al cinghiale and others starters and pasta. But the real surprise was a wonderful grill. I had a delicious steak. Good wine and good price. We will return for sure again.

Osteria la solita zuppa
This restaurant, in the old town of Chiusi, is quite special. Italian food is extremely traditional, and what distinguishes good restaurants from bad, according to the Italian thinking, is the quality and freshness of the ingredients rather than originality. La Solita Zuppa, however, manages to serve really good traditional dishes while at the same time coming up with some fabulous variations on traditional themes. (It is very much a slow food restaurant.) The pici with a goose ragu (a special) was extraordinarily good, one of the best rich meaty pasta sauces I have had. The maiale (pork) slow cooked in chestnut honey was out of this world. The roast beef, though more traditional, had a melt-in-the mouth tenderness. And the three icecream balls was up there with the best desserts ever. It sounds banal, but is like nothing what you will ever find in a gelateria: it involved mascarpone and yoghurt, chestnut honey and saffron, and I forget the third. The subtlety and distinctiveness of the flavours was as good as it gets. Soups are their speciality (as the name indicates) but we didnât try them as it was not really the season. All these dishes would do a multi-starred Michelin restaurant proud. The house wine was very good as well (a good test). Judging from the wines ordered by the next table, the wine list ooks pretty good too. The presentation was a little more formal than the usual trattoria â linen, nice glasses, etc. â which made it good for an occasion. There was a mix of discriminating tourists and locals. The affable and very likeable owner and head chef will explain all the dishes, in English if required, and it is worth taking his advice as there are often specials not on the menu. Value was extraordinarily good â right at the low end of standard trattoria prices, yet the food quality was top of the range. Definitely a stop on a culinary tour of Italy.Chiusi vecchio is quite a pretty town, not much visited: the 1930s archaeological museum, devoted to Etruscan antiquities, is interesting, as is the church opposite.

Great italian restaurant specialized in cooking fish and finest Tuscan cuisine . Very refined location. The staff Will make yourself at home
A real hidden gem. Simply outstanding!!! We loved it! It's tucked away in Chiusi, Tuscany but well worth finding. It felt like sitting by in a high-end restaurant in Florence or Rome. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and efficient. Don't use the menu, let them lay the meal out and match the wines for you. You will be very pleased.

We came here last year after living in and visiting Paciano for years. We come here on off nights and when in the mood for somethiing different. (GREAT SEAFOOD). We have come to love their Branzino, Swordfish and most of all their clams and spaghetti. The gnocchi and Norcia meat is great too. We also love the service and the desserts (Tiramisu)...Try it if you have a night free.

I was very eager to take my friends to Bruno's as well as not having been back myself for a few years. Located on a central street of Citta' della Pieve, it offers a lovely decor and ambiance (upstairs and downstairs dining rooms), very very good service and excellent Umbrian and Tuscan dishes. The service is excellent and staff very nice and helpful. The locale was completely restructured a few years ago with great taste and also keeping the original frescos on the ceilings in the upper rooms of what was originally a medieval house.
