This picturesque Umbrian city has a history that spans many eras. The city wall and arch are Etruscan; the sixth-century Sant'Angelo church was built atop a Roman temple; the town's cathedral is both Gothic and Renaissance. If you have a sweet tooth, visit the famous Perugina chocolate factory; if you have a full set of sweet teeth, visit during the Eurochocolate festival, held in October, when the entire town reportedly smells of chocolate.

My friend and I ate here last Friday night after another popular restaurant in town was all booked up. Our waitress spoke English well but service wasnât great: we had to wait a while for her to arrive and during our meal had trouble grabbing someone. I got the pumpkin soup and a truffle omelette and my friend got the wild boar gnocchi. All sounds great and was described well on the menu. But for â¬8 my soup was bland (albeit slightly enhanced with the roasted onions in the middle atop the soup) and Iâve had tastier truffles in Croatia. My friend actually sent her dish back for more meat as there was so little in the dish the first time it was served. I love how the restaurant like others in Perugia allows dogs but the price for the food didnât match up with the taste factor. TA got it wrong this time! You can eat tastier truffles everywhere in the world .... if you are not able to distinguish genuine truffle from scented oil . Enrico

I have only wonderful things to say about this place- delicious pizzas from 5 Euro, jugs of wine from 2 Euro, quick service, friendly staff, what isnât to love? A word of warning though: the restaurant is small with only ten tables, so there is always a queue of people outside waiting for a table, with a very fair and organized ticket system (on a Saturday night people wait for over an hour), so get there early or come prepared for a long wait. I returned here frequently during my stays in Perugia and cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is by far one of the best pizzeria's in Perugia. Probably the best pizza "slice" "al taglio".
Great pizza by the slice. Fresh, crispy, handmade, on the go or on easy snack-bar like tables.Very nice couple running the place. We had: vegetarian, salsicca and one else.It was just great.

We visited Pizzeria La Romantica in March 2017.Pizza was very, very good. Large selection of toppings, and a good variety of options for vegetarians. My girlfriend went for one with sun-dried tomatoes and olives, I went for the ham and mushroom. Pizzas were up the with we've had. Ingredients were simple and high quality. Highlight was definitely the base - crispy and slight charred on the outside, doughy in the middle, in exactly the way it needed to be. Couple that with a fab dessert, great wine and cheeky limoncello to finish, it was an excellent, very reasonable meal.Only slight downside was the service. Far better than what you get over here in the UK, but not quite as attentive and welcoming as you'd normally expect in Italy. In summary, we'd recommend this to anyone wanting a standout pizza whilst visiting Perugia.

Located right in the middle of Perugia old tow, though a bit aside of the central street, you have to know the name of the restaurant and look around to note the sign.Friendly staff, fast service. Restaurant announce themselves tratoria-pizzeria, in fact it is. Tried their pizza, was a bit too thick at my taste. Meat was delishious, housewine acceptable. Cover (coperto) is 2 EUR/person, too much for this place imho. In general prices are regular, 17 EUR for tagliata di manzo (sliced beef served with ruccola and grana) and 5.5 EUR for mid size pizza Margherita. All in all my review is - could be once visited but not worth to come back.

We were staying at an agriturismo in Torgiano and felt like having pizza for dinner. I searched through Trip Advisor for locations close by and found this little gem. Not only was the pizza wonderful but the two owners of the establishment were incredible hosts. We enjoyed both our conversation and the pizza was exquisite. Highly recommended.

Iâve had lots of pizza in Perugia but they all missed that Naples touch and pizza height that differentiates the original pizza from Naples than the others. Very attentive and nice staff and to top it off they have a rather nice (and I must confess, unexpected) collection of liquor and dessert and good coffee too. Would absolutely revisit.
