Sharing its name with the traditional drinking cup, the restaurant's interior is all dark wood and snug booth seating, to create a real 'tavern' feel. Cosy, warm, lively - it's perfect for a midweek family night out, or a couples' Saturday evening post-cinema feast. If you're not in the mood for pizza, we recommend going for one of the Tavern's kebabs, followed by an enormous filled crepe (or two). With generous portions, an endless pizza menu, and a large selection of signature beers, it's best to try and reserve a table, especially on the weekend. We have visited the area several times now and always call at this restraurant. The location could not be better with incredible views down the valley and over nearby villages. On a summers evening just sitting outside watching the hares running on the nearby fields and listening to the occasional cricket everything seems magical. You never want to evening to end.As to the food. You have a brilliant choice of pizza, all prepared while you wait and the choice from the menu is staggering. Everything is home made, the restraurant is family run and it shows. We have never had a bad meal or even a mediocre one there. Everything is fresh, using local ingredients when in season and tastes fantastico . It is one of the few restraurants we visit whenever we can. There is a real friendly family atmosphere, I mean where else would complete strangers coming into the restraurant say "good evening" to you and then "goodnight" when they leave. I cannot recommend it highly enough

We regularly visit Citta di Castello and we always go to L,Osteria. It is excellent value for money, the food is always delicious and the whole experience is traditionally Italian. Everyone is friendly and they try to speak English even though I speak reasonable Italian and we always come away with the feeling we have just left a Harry Potter novel as the alleyway to the Restaurant is so atmospheric. Cant wait to go again, and again........

I wanted to find a good pizzeria in Citta di Castello so I called a friend that lives there and she recommended Pizzoteca (this place used to be called Enoteca, nice change of the name). Anyway the pizza is a little thicker than what you find around Citta di Castello but it was really good and the ingridients seemed really fresh and natural. Like the others we had to wait a litlle but I prefer to wait and have a good pizza. The only remark I would make is that we were sitting inside and you can smell the umidity since the tables are below the ground level. After you sit for 5 min you get used to the smell and you will not notice it anymore.

Ate here for the first time after hearing good recommendations. Pizza had a very fine base which I liked and a generous topping. The ravioli with tomato and basil was ok; good pasta but the filling and sauce were weak on flavour. Biggest disappointment was that although advertised there was no house wine. This is a big place simply decorated but with so many different eating areas it has some atmosphere. Young efficient staff certainly trying hard to please.

The owner and her crew serves you with a smile and a welcome. The ambience is warming and the food is excellent. However, the area to the right has a lot of sound when filled with people and could benefit from some kind of sound calming equipment. I would definitively come back!

Went for a last minute, late dinner one evening. Enjoyed our pizza very much. Tiramisu was the not best - seemed like it had been refrigerated for a long time. Good service. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend.thanks for the positive review, regarding tiramisu I explain it:in Italy there are hygienic sanitary regulations that keep the sweets at very low temperatures so sometimes their texture is less creamy than it should be to enhance the characteristics of the product.Thank you Fez

Having a house in Umbria we were introduced to this retaurant by a friend 5 years ago.Slightly ticked away on a business park, this is certainly not an establishment you'll suddenly stumble upon, but once you've found it we think you'll find it unbeatable. The fixed price lunch @14 euros (including wine, water and coffee) is exceptional value served in a large atmospheric room with efficient and friendly service. The owners are all very much in evidence, working the tables like the true professionals they are.At weekends in the evening the same room transforms itself into the Sesto Canto restaurant by clever changing of the decor, lighting and table settings. The pizzas are to die for,and the pastas and meat dishes are of a high standard, even for this region.A first class, family run restaurant, which is our favourite of the many we enjoy in the Northern Umbria/Eastern Tuscany region.

Lovely chilled lunch at a typical little Italian cafe right opposite the cathedral. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff who made us feel very very welcome. Our poor Italian wasn't a problem either as the hostess spoke enough English to make us comfortable.Food was fabulous with a huge selection of pizzas and pastas and their own speciality sandwiches. Add to that a couple of local beers and some wine and the whole lunchtime experience couldnt be beaten. And all for 30 euros. Great value for money and thoroughly recommended.Grazie
