Bathroom could be cleaner
Reviewed By tilltwinklesNothing wrong with this hostel itself, the little courtyard is cute and the bed was comfy. All staff were very friendly and had genuine smiles. My bracelet was stolen off my wrist in my sleep in the female dorm, although when I mentioned it to a staff member to keep an eye out if it turned up he didn’t seem to care. The bathroom needs a good bloody scrub, particularly the shower, but I’ve stayed in worse.

Debes agregar el número de contacto y avisar la hr de llegada para que Mario vaya a abrirte y te entregue un llavero con llave de ingreso al edificio, al departamento y del casillero para guardar tus pertenencias. Te entregan sabanas, no toallas. El desayuno es muy abundante y Mario está para asistirte en todo. Tiene dos heladeras, microondas, cocina, cafetera, sal, aceite, te etc. Todo excelente en relación precio-calidad!

Unforgettable stay and hospitality on the mountains of Sicily
Reviewed By Paivi PThis beautiful and huge old frantoio is located "in the middle of nowhere" in a very positive meaning. Still for example a popular Cefalù on the seaside is not far away by car and there are many interesting mountain towns like Petralia Soprana and Petralia Sottana nearby to visit. The family owned place made us almost speechless when we arrived in the late December afternoon. Old ceilings were incredibly high and the great stone courtyard so peaceful. We sat in front of the fire reading books and silently sipping our wine when the wind was roaring outside. The family has 9 000 olive trees! A beautiful simple room was cozy and warm and the family members so welcoming and helpful. The power duo was Corrado and the Chef Antonio who cooked such great dinners - various antipastis after antipastis, great homemade pasta and meat - again in front of another cozy fireplace. The peaceful wintertime is a good time to come - we left totally relaxed and were already making new plans to return.

Vucciria Hostel is a brand new, family run hostel located in a large and cozy house on the third floor of a building to the 'Vucciria', one of the oldest and famous historical markets of Palermo. Located in the heart of the historic center, near the sea, Marina Square, the most beautiful monuments, gardens and museums in the city, Vucciria Hostel offers to the traveler a great starting point for all the most fascinating places that so well characterize this part of Palermo. The hostel has 18 beds divided in three rooms . Two on the first floor with 12 beds and 2 shared bathroom , and the other one with six beds , private bathroom and private balcony on the second floor. Entire property has in every rooms air conditioning, internet wifi and heating. Included in the price are the towels, the sheets, the use of the kitchen and lockers. Our common areas such as the terrace , living room / kitchen and the ballroom .

Reviewed By mary88hlI had wonderful time here in Al Vucciria hostel. Margarita and other staff are very friendly and makes this place a truly home for travellers. All common areas, bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. Theras on the rooftop is also great. The hostel is located in the heart of Palermo. The street seems dark and busy at night but we felt safe. At the morning there is a market and at night usually a party, so earplugs are helpful. But you wouldn't want to sleep because Palermo is best at night. Margarita

La peor experiencia de mi vida!
Reviewed By Adrian NAntes de nada, me gustaría contar mi experiencia con Polina, la dueña de Balarm hostel en Palermo, Sicilia. A través de Worldpackers me eligieron para hacer un voluntariado en este hostel y a cambio recibir alojamiento gratis. Horas antes de la llegada, Polina me avisó de que no podía hacer el voluntariado porque estaban en obras (no es muy profesional por su parte avisar horas antes a una persona que ya tiene comprado los vuelos y las pruebas PCR realizadas), pero la dueña me propone quedarme una semana gratis para buscar otra cosa mientras tanto (qué maja!). Cuando llego al hostel estaba todo abandonado, sucio, hacía mucho frío. Hablé con ella y le comenté la situación y se rió, en lugar de darme una solución. Polina me parece una persona maleducada, poco profesional e irresponsable. No aconsejo que os quedéis en este hostel ya que está muy sucio, hace frío y la jefa deja mucho que desear. ¡La limpieza brilla por su ausencia! Adrián Merino

Beautiful hostel in amazing location - excellent value.
Reviewed By 533angelWe visited Palermo for a few days at the beginning of June. It was an absolute delight staying in this hostel - a blissful relief to return there each evening after the hustle and bustle of the city. The view is breathtaking, and it's only 1 minute's walk to dive into the beautiful clear water of the bay. The gardens of the hostel are lovely - very well cared for. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately no kitchen, but lots of choices of restaurants at the nearby small town of Sferracavallo, about 10 minute's walk away. It was a bit of a trek into Palermo by bus. I would perhaps suggest relaxing at the hostel for a few days once you've finished exploring the city. The location of this hostel really is something very special.

A family experience
Reviewed By Julien KThe staff is great. The location is perfect (historical center). Always on the way, a lot of movement in that beautiful city. Michele and Matias will always be available to recommend you places to visit or where to eat. It's cheap, clean, and you will feel like you're part of the family pretty fast. Therr you will have a really good experience, where you can either be alone or hang around with people. Highly recommended

BED BUGS
Reviewed By michaelbA7780EOStayed here one night and found huge bed bugs crawling on the pillow in the morning. We brought it to the attention of the manager, showing her one of the bugs that we had found and killed with blood splatter all over the pillow, but she kept saying it might have been our fault. She didn't take any responsibility for the bugs in the bed but said she would clean the sheets - it's common knowledge that the bed bugs live in the mattress so if this is how they deal with a bed bug issue it isn't surprising that there are bed bugs in this hostel! We understand that the bed bugs were brought into the hostel by a guest, but as a business providing accommodation they need to take responsibility for the issue and offer a suitable resolution. Very unimpressed with how this was handled.
