Known as Padova in Italian, Padua may be the oldest city in northern Italy, if you believe the claims of its 12th-century BC founding by Trojans. It certainly has history, including its famous university (one of Europe’s oldest, from 1222), the 13th-century Basilica di Sant'Antonio (resting place of St. Anthony), and Scrovegni Chapel, with Giotto’s famed 14th century frescos. The magnificent Prato della Valle, a 950,000-square-foot elliptical square, is thought to be Europe’s second-biggest.

Yes, there is a locals-only dining establishment nestled in a neighborhood far from the center of Padua (walk or take a taxi). The value is very good in terms of attentive service, quality local food, expert preparation in front of you and tasty wines. Would I dine here again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

True local food, from typical and simple finger food to traditional recipes, at lunch and dinner, with local wines and good beers, in one of the most ancient and fascinating parts of Padua, very close (5 minutes walking) to the central squares.
Such an eclectic experience. The Rolling Stones was playing when we walked in. The owner greeted us, sat us and took our drinks orders a quickly, and we had a nice variety to select from. As a previous review, and over their door reminded us, this is not fast food, but we were not in a hurry. The food was good, we had thin slices of homemade roast beef with shaved parmesan, rabbit, and two orders of mezzanine with scampi. All was delicious, although rabbit was a bit overcooked. I highly recommend unless you are in a hurry!

17 people. Not worth for the price.Scarce home wine selection.Good appetizers and starters.Average first dishVery poor second dishes (fish and meat).Sloppy cakes.Overall experience very modest. Bye bye. Have a nice day....si fa per dire....

The waiters were awesome and helpful! The food was so delicious! The sushi is a must and the edamame is great too. Also, the dumplings are good and any kind of sushi! The miso soup was a favorite, too!

This relatively small but very cosy and beautiful place, serves authentic Japanese dishes. I admired their extensive menu and the many choices they provided! Although they didn't have an english menu, they offered me some thorough explanation on the different dishes. Also very good white wine to get all that tasty raw seafood go down!Prices very reasonable! A must try for everyone who needs to taste original Japanese cuisine!

I visited the restaurant already few times for aperitivo. Instead of potato chips you get served with tasty edamame soybeans and sushi accompanied by a glass of good wine. The place and the atmosphere are really pleasant. I definitely recommend the restaurant and I'm looking forward to try the Chinese cuisine next time!

Il nostro è un ristorante sito nel centro storico di Padova e che offre un menù di solo pesce, colazioni, wine bar
This restaurant was amazing. The food and service were a real high point in our first trip to Italy. The staff was very warm and friendly and made us feel very much at home even though we do not speak Italian. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff seemed like they were a family. We liked it so much the first time, we went back the next day. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We went for dinner here whilst in Padua, and were very impressed. The atmosphere in an old dining room with beautiful paintings and candlelight was sophisticated and yet relaxed. The service was friendly but effective, and the food was superb. The risotto was delicious, the beef was excellent and the desserts amazing. The wine list is comprehensive and well priced and we had fantastic good and wine. I would thoroughly revcrtbis restaurant, which deserves all the plaudits it receives.

Traditional street food in Padua's ancient square, Piazza della Frutta. Like us on fb "La Folperia
I am sooo glad we made it to La Folperia on this, our fifth visit to Padova. It feels like a well kept secret, this stall that appears late in the afternoon, serves fabulous octopus right next to a nice bar and then fades into the night when the food is finished. Well, once we had found it I made a commitment to visit every evening. Consistent, friendly and very tasty. We will be back!Dear Keke,We are really happy you enjoyed our famous Street Food and we are proud to read your wonderful words about our Service! We are waiting for you for your next visit!Best regards,Max & Barbara
