Some friends took us to this hidden treasure, tucked down a narrow residential lane in Bari Sardo. We ate in a beautifully decorated little courtyard that has sunshades and nice quiet background music. The service was quite quick and everything was served correctly and in a very friendly manner. The menu featured some very unusual pizzas, such as "fritto misto", "sea urchin roe" and "prawn, tomato and rocket", together with all the classical choices. We shared a plate of very nice deep fried calamari before our pizza. The pizzas were well constructed with just a touch of crispness but still pliant bases. Washed down with water and a lovely chilled Cannanou from Oliena and followed by a couple of desserts and a round of good grappa, the bill was just 75 euros for the 4 of us.

We cannot fault this lovely restaurant. We were staying at Camping Ultima Spiaggia.. left our teenagers eating in their restuarant and we booked here!! For 25 euros you get a delicious varied authentic meal with un-limited red or white house wine and water. The view over the farmland is very lovely too. I really don't think you will be disappointed. Booking is essential. We turned up on Sunday to book but couldn't get a table until the Tuesday. .Thank you Agriturismo Chiai xxx

My wife and I popped into Orchidea Blu at lunchtime upon arriving at Bari Sardo. Antonello who I believe owns the restaurant looked after us very well. We were looking for something that was quick and easy as we arrived from a long trip from Sant' antioco island. We went for the wood fired oven pizza as I noticed from the outside the restaurant the pizza oven chimney which was about 15 foot high! I opted for the Arrabbiata pizza which was laced with fresh anchovy and nicely spiced with chilli. I prefer thin crust on my pizza and this didn't disappoint. With plenty of tomato and cheese on the large base, this was as authentic as they come! My wife opted for the Sardinian sausage with pecorino...Yum! Make sure you're hungry as the pizza's are filling.! We found the prices to be very reasonable and we enjoyed a glass of white wine, Ichnusa beer, mineral water and espresso coffee to finish. The restaurant was quiet but then again, it was a Monday afternoon. We only visited the one time but our lunch experience was very pleasant indeed.

We went here due to the good reviews.Unfortunately our experience was not a great one. We were given conflicting information about how to order. Once we had ordered, the food arrived reasonably promptly. It was average. Nothing special and expensive for what it was, compared to their places we have eaten in Sardinia. The card machine was not working so we paid in cash but only had 100euro note, this was unfortunate but this should not have been a problem as they would have loads of change if everyone had to pay with cash. They were moaning about us and the fact that we were English...obviously our business is not good enough for them!

In the mountains this typical agriturismo serves one Menu which covers a wide range from the local dishes! All the food was very fresh and seemed hand made.Leaving here hungry is probably impossible ;-)Why 4 from 5?Well Agriturismo is always a more simple place with not so many choice. We love that but it is important to know that this is not like a "normal restaurant"

Il Piede di Porko is a lovely cozy place located in the centre of Bari Sardo. They serve tradiotional and innovative food of high quality. The location is divided in three different floors including the roof terrace with a beautiful view. The staff were very friendly and professional. You should try it as soon as you can! I really reccomend it!

Nice ambience, friendly attentive host. Very tasteful food. We had the mix of seafood and the beef with cannonau (reginal wine) sauce and pecorino cheese. As dessert the cheese board and a chocolate soufflé, which was extremely scrumptious.Very relaxed evening. I fully recommend going for a meal here.(Fyi they don't serve pizzas)

Out of season visit. We're given a Italian /German menu, while being a English /Dutch couple. Had a nice pizza Romana, could have done with some garlic. Husband had mixed grill (meat) which was salted, when that could have done without and left to do oneself. Overall okay atmosphere. No chicken dishes what so ever though.

Immersed in the Mediterranean maquis , surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the Abba restaurant and Murta welcomes its guests in a simple and elegante.Le large rooms inside and the outside terrace of the restaurant , it is the ideal place to savor ,
We visited this restaurant following a recommendation from the manager of our hotel, and we are so glad we did. The surroundings are beautiful. You can sit on the verandah which looks out over vineyards, or inside in the lovely dining room. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, particularly the restaurant manager who is charming and knowledgeable. There is a set menu available featuring classic dishes of Sardinia. The suckling pig was amazing! This menu was served with jugs of very good house wine. You can also choose off the main menu, which was particularly strong on seafood. We enjoyed the experience so much we went two nights in a row!
