Find out what Southern-Italian restaurants to try in Pozzuoli. Just a few miles west of Naples (and easily reached by train), the ancient seaside city of Pozzuoli is probably best known for its bradyseism, a raising and lowering of the Earth’s surface due to underground volcanic activity. Many sites remain from Pozzuoli’s days as an important Roman port, including the Macellum or Temple of Serapis, which for many years was submerged under water. The Flavian Amphitheater (Italy’s third-largest) and the Cathedral of Rione Terra are other popular attractions.

Our group was staying at the agriturismo down the road and looked at the La Cantina every day as we passed by. It looked very interesting and we planned on making this our dinner stop on the final night of our trip. We were not disappointed. After seating us, our waiter poured glasses of prosecco as a welcome, as well as baskets of bread. The staff helped us through the menu with our limited knowledge of Italian and everyone had a fabulous meal. The décor would be described as 'country' with numerous antiques. It's a very family friendly restaurant and was an excellent cap to a marvelous week. I highly recommend La Cantina dell' Abbazia.Thank you so much Mary.We hope it is only the first of many other times, here with us. We are very pleased that it was all to your liking and that we could keep up the important value of Italian cuisine but especially that of Neapolitan cuisine. We'll wait for you next time, to make you taste all the other dishes.See you soon!

This is an amazing place for all manner of folks looking for both traditional food from the Campania region and or just great roast meats. As you enter the place you are welcomed by slabs of meat in refrigerated compartment where it ages nicely and long . The compartment has glass walls and you can look at the meat (pretty much as you do in some NYC steakhouses which have obviously inspired this) prior to ordering it. The public is generally made out of Italian patrons but there is also a fair number of foreign customers mostly from the NATO bas not far away. If you go for the whole menu you are probably not going to be able to finish it. So, be wise and order what you can manage. It is going to be plenty anyway. Everything is great quality here, highly recommended. When I was there we were close to the wood stove and that was a little too warm for confort since Naples climate (even in winter) is not really requiring that kind of supplementary heat.

Situated in beautiful Pozzuoli, near the historic center and harbor. Lubrino Concetta's Putipù Bistrot is open every day for lunch and dinner. Near the Restaurant there is a Winery ''Putipù Soft Wine'' for aperitif and degustation.
We went to this restaurant because it was recommend to us by a local. On the door it clearly stated open at 1900. But after entering we were told they would open at 2000. Probably because of our summer attire and 16 month old daughter that didn't match the ambiance....

I had the pleasure of dining here last week, and I still think about it! I had the steak with mushrooms and balsamic reduction, and my boyfriend had the lobster linguine. The chef made a flank steak as tender and flavorful as a filet. The lobster was fresh and delicious. He also had the clam soup, which had at least 20 clams, sweet and flavorful. We finished with a pistachio mousse/chocolate dessert and limoncello. All of this in the supremely romantic setting of a canldle-lit basement wine cellar!

Neapolitan restaurant with old flavours and excellent traditional recepies.
There are many places to eat in Pozzuoli but we were drawn to this restaurant by other TripAdvisor reviews. Good Italian cooking is simple but so effective and this place does it really well- great ingredients (not too many), serve with love and humour. We ate from the âI (i.e. host) decide â menu and enjoyed every morsel. Food came at an appropriate pace despite the fact that there was a large family party on the mezzanine eating at the same time.

Complimenti a tutti!
