The Sailors Bar is located just three miles from the picturesque town of Kenmare on the Castletownbere Road (R571). Come and experience a traditional Irish Bar coupled with great food. We have extensive outdoor seating overlooking the beautiful Kenmare Ba
We visited Sailors with friends last week. The food was quite nice but unfortunately the atmosphere and service were very poor. The waitresses were very slow to take our order and were generally inattentive. Also, our water glasses were not properly cleaned and the empty dish I was given for my mussels shells was filthy. We were very disappointed with the afternoon and we certainly wonât return.

My husband and I had the prawns and chips. My children had the kids fish and chips. It was the best fish and chips we have ever tasted and I highly recommend it. The staff are really friendly, the waiter was very polite and helpful. His name was Richard I think. The chef was very welcoming (sorry never got his name). It is good value for money.Hello Potatolovertoo,Thanks for taking the time to review our Seafood Bar. Great views along the waterfront from this bistro. Came for a late lunch after doing the âRingsâ and the food was worthwhile. We shared the artisan plate, which was well portioned, and the fish cake appetizer. Then we shared the chicken burger (not fried and not breaded), with chips. Very good food; excellent service. â¬60 included a glass of wine and beer. The patio on a non windy day, is lovely. Free wifi.

If you are looking for a relaxed and cozy dinner, this is the place for you. We were there on a Sunday night, so it was very busy. We sat upstairs surrounded by a warm and cozy room. The food was very, very good. I had the tomato soup and pork collar....a cut I was unfamiliar with. The pork collar is slowly braised and served with root vegetables. My husband had the beef cheeks, also slowly braised. Both were very good. No desserts.Service was warm and friendly.Thank you for you kind review ,our pork is from Rare Breed Organic Pigs we breed on our farm 2 km from the restaurant .The Pork collar recently won Gold at the Blas na Heireann Irish Food Awards Best RegardsDermot Brennan
