Kinsale (/kɪnˈseɪl/; Irish: Cionn tSáile, meaning "Tide Head") is a historic port and fishing town in County Cork, Ireland, which also has significant military history. Located approximately 25 km south of Cork City on the coast near the Old Head of Kinsale, it sits at the mouth of the River Bandon and had a population of 5,281 at the 2016 census. Its population increases during the summer months when the tourist season is at its peak and when the boating fraternity and other tourist visitors arrive in numbers. Kinsale is in the Cork South–West (Dáil Éireann) constituency, which has three seats.

We were staying for the weekend in Kinsale and had pre-booked the Black Pig for the Friday night. It was very close to our hotel which was great and we received a warm welcome and were show to our table immediately even though we were early. We ordered a special of prawns in a light chilli sauce as well as Mushrooms on roast and a chorizo risotto. All of the food was delicious as was the dry white wine from the (very) extensive wine list. My little gripes are on â¬14 for small bowl of very small prawns (about 10) is excessive as is charging â¬3 for a "side" dish of sliced French baguette (which was quite dry) to soak up the sauce. All in all however this is a lovely, homely place with good service and delicious food.

We booked a big party of 20 for a hen night meal. We were not disappointed, the standard of food and service was super. Could not fault, we had the whole 1st floor and staff were very attentive and food was of a high quality. only gripe was there was a good 45 minutes between starter and dinner which was quite lengthy but other than that very happy and would return.Hi Tracey,So glad you had a good evening at Vista and enjoyed your Hen party. Apologies for the delay between courses. We appreciate you taking the time to write your review and I hope you all have a fantastic time at the big day!Colette

We had High Tea in the Aperitif room at the Blue Haven. Reservations for this special treat must be made 24 hrs in advance but do yourself a big favor and put it on your list. The Tea is superb and the treats are beautiful and plentiful. There are 3 tiers of concoctions, starting with 6 tasty finger sandwiches, mid level are the best hot raspberry and fruit scones (4) with jam, clotted cream and butter. The top tier is an array of tiny sweets too numerous to count. The atmosphere in the room is soft and quiet and the food I described is for 2 people! A fantastic treat and value at â¬19.50 each! Do it!Thanks for taking the time to give us this amazing positive feedback about your experience having Afternoon Tea here @ Aperitif @ The Blue Haven.
