The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from
We enjoyed an excellent experience at this restaurant. We were a group of eight who went to this restaurant without reservations. Perhaps because it was Sunday, perhaps because it was the first week of September, however the restaurant was not overly busy although there was a crowd. Our waiter was Johnny and he did an excellent job in taking care of all of our needs. Within our group we enjoyed a variety of traditional Irish dishes as well as fish dishes. All of us were happy with their choices. The atmosphere is great Irish decor. An added bonus for us was a group of seven local musicians who came in and played live around 9:30 pm. I rate this as top notch both in meals and ambience. Service was great as well.

The Fishermanâs bar and Restaurant Portmagee. We are known as a lively traditional Irish pub with some of the best Sea food you are likely to eat. We are located at the pier in the heart of the fishing village of Portmagee.
When our tour stopped in town for lunch, we liked the look of this interesting place, located just across the street from the harbor. We were greeted and seated quickly by friendly staff. We both chose open crab sandwiches on soda bread (Not the soda bread you typically see on St. Patrick's Day in the US). They were excellent, with just enough mayonnaise to bind the plentiful pieces of crab. Prices are reasonable.

When you first walk in the visuals are not exciting including a huge television (actually all the pubs we visted in Eire were a bit like this), though with good wall decorations, BUT .... don't be put off .... the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is superb. On the first night I had a seafood platter, a brilliant combination of hot and cold, fish and seafood, whilst my wife had pan fried sole. The sole was so good and perfectly cooked that we went back the next night so I could have the sole, oh and a chowder starter whilst my wife had pan fried turbot or halibut (can't remember). This part of the world seems to specialise in chowder, they were all good yet this was the best; and my wife's fish was, again, perfectly cooked .... damn .... we weren't spending a 3rd night in Waterville else I'd have had to come back. Highly recommended. My wife is mostly vegetarian yet occasionally eats fish .... she liked the vegetarian options .... yet the fish was so good.

Small cafe but very good food. Fish and chips was large portion, perfectly cooked. Chicken and Brie sandwich was also very good. The desserts looked good but didn't have time to try any. There is outside seating however when the wind is blowing strong it's hard hold your food on the table while eating.Thank you kindly for leaving such a wonderful review of our cafe when you visited recently, on a blustery day in Waterville by the sounds of it. We are delighted you enjoyed our local fresh fish from Dalys which is scrumptious we have to agree. We hope you had a pleasant day on the Ring of Kerry and again many thanks for your support and feedback.

My three sisters and myself arrived at the restaurant at about 8:50 pm - we were informed by our waitress that the kitchen closes at 9 pm but bar is Ione till 11 pm. She quickly checked with the cook who said that we could order. Had the salmon while others in group had burger; Irish stew; cod ... all very good. Our waitress was very helpful; courteous and attentive-very pleasant experience and happy that they could accommodate our late arrival.

Went for brunch with a couple of friends - went around 11.30 and it was great to be offered a breakfast menu. Good range of options and very tasty gluten free bread. The waitress was extremely friendly and was seemingly unflappable as she ran a very busy cafe by herself. Thank you so much for your kind review of our restaurant It is gratefully appreciated & i am glad you enjoyed our home-baked in house gluten-free bread.

This is an average bar and having been here 4 or 5 times I can honestly say there is nothing remarkable about it one way or the other. If you're thirsty you can stop in for a drink and sit outside if the weather is good.

I read her name tag and know where she's from as I asked her. This has happened to me before, so please read on about this scam. Travellers are general not very attentive when paying the money asked for. This girl at the till asked me for one Euro more than I actually owed. While I was having my coffee and cake, I realised I had overpaid. So I went back to her (after about 10 minutes) and asked for my money back. Don't know why, she had an extra Euro on the till. Perhaps company policy. Not sure. She gave it back to me. No worries there. This could have been an honest mistake too. But I thought I'd make folks aware that it has happened to me at this place. This is one of the most common of travel pitfalls and should not be taken lightly. Overall, the coffee, hot chocolate and carrot cake I had ordered were very good. Good ambience, staff were polite too, including the one who had overcharged me. Here's some news. You are a business and as such are expected to perform at high professional levels.Hi TushTushar,Apologies for not responding to this review earlier. I am unclear as to where you were when you got scammed. Nobody at the Puffin Cafe wears a name tag nor have they ever. Please contact me directly to resolve this very serious accusation. My name is Darina Healy, the email address for the cafe is [email protected]. RegardsDarina Healy
