Cynics suggest that golf is a good walk spoiled but a tincture of gold on the nineteenth hole goes a long way to relieve the tension of missing a pleasant stroll interrupted by greens and fairways. Green Spot is a legendary Irish Whiskey that was originally bottled by Dublin wine merchants Mitchell's and can only be found in bars that take their drinking clientele seriously. Adare is a picture postcard pretty village not far from Limerick and the former home and lands of the Earls of Dunraven dominate the local landscape. The Carriage House just oozes class and every detail of the interior design was meticulously planned and executed to celebrate the natural beauty and wonder of the surrounding estate. Comfort, luxury but a relaxing atmosphere is the name of the game here and the quality of the food on offer reflects the fact that a Michelin star lurks somewhere close by. Sipping a Bellini or knocking back a sublime whiskey in the bar by the magnificent marble fireplace is just decadence personified and is an exercise that will be repeated the very next time the lottery winnings wind their way in my direction!Dear DCHPORTVENDRESMany thanks for your kind comments regarding your recent dining experience at The Carriage House. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback and I have been delighted to share it with our team. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we look forward to serving you again in the future. Kind regards Brian Lawlor / The Carriage House General Manager

The award winning restaurant was the highlight for us. Superb food, the best prepared beef in Ireland. The staff are a joy to meet and the owner Louis Murphy was so welcoming. A must visit if your planning on visiting the Midwest of Ireland. Adare is magical with such quaint thatched cottages and great visitor attractions just a stroll away.

The Bistro has bicycles and other things hanging from the ceiling which are covered in dust. We were concerned that it would be blown onto our food from the air conditioning unit.Breakfast fairly standard fare - kept warm via hot plates which make it dry and over cooked.Hi WetherbyLady,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review; we can assure you that they are cleaned regularly. Recommended by the Adare Manor staff. A lovely quaint house with a great price fixe. All food was great. Could not say anything against it. Ribeye was good and salmon looked wonderful. Prix fixe was a great deal.

Our tour bus gave us some time in Adare during which we looked for lunch and settled on The Arches. Service was quick to enable us to get back to the coach. The staff was friendly and the food good. We are glad we found The Arches.

Restaurant 1826 Adare is a casual dining restaurant in the picturesque village of Adare. Owners Wade & Elaine Murphy strive to provide seasonal, locally sourced cuisine at reasonable prices in a cosy setting. Matched with friendly & attentive service. Awa
The difference between really good restaurants and great restaurants is the little things, attention to detail. The staff at 1826 do everything to make sure they are covering those little details with their service, which is exemplary. They need some support from the kitchen in this respect also. The food is great but they need to pay attention to the details. When you can eat your side dishes because they are served at the right temperature but you cannot touch your main course because it is too hot to come within an inch of your lips it spoils an otherwise great experience. The little things.

The Wild Geese restaurant is centrally located in the historic village of Adare Co.Limerick, occupying one of the original thatched cottages dating from the 1820's. The restaurant, with its beautiful doll-like settings, lends itself to a relaxing and atmo
Adorable Adare is a hard place to get away from the tourist crowds, and this place also fills up with overflow from the nearby Manor guests, so you may very well find, as we did, that quiet conversation will be difficult because of the small space ringing with loud conversations of the large tables of touring parties near you. In our case, a large party of 10-12 American corporate/professional colleagues nearly shouted over each other to be heard, and one actually stood up at table and loudly toasted (this in a small room with only three other tables very nearby.). We were seated downstairs; maybe upstairs acoustics would have been better? That aside, we found the service and food good but not memorable. Portions are generous, though, and prices very reasonable. Dear Visitor,Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We're delighted you enjoyed the food and service but sorry that the room was too noisy for you on the night. Our cottage dates from the 1820s and as such, the atmosphere can be described as intimate, an atmosphere which people generally enjoy. As you said, the guests beside you were shouting, so, understandably, you did not enjoy your meal.Thank you nonetheless for the four stars, and we wish you all the best on the rest of your travels.Kind regards,Julie and David

We dined here as a group of 4. From beginning to end the whole experience was fabulous. We were seated at the most beautiful table overlooking the garden and golf course. The menu is great value for money for the quality of food you receive. The staff were so professional yet friendly, ensuring the whole experience is relaxed. The food is presented beautifully and every dish was just beautiful, the cocktails were divine as were all the added extras throughout the meal. Dining in The Oak Room is an experience not to be missed. Weâre so lucky to have a restaurant like this in our local area! Absolutely delighted with the Glen Tavern. After suffering the truely awful O'Driscolls Bar on the other side of the river the day before, the Glen Tavern was a joy - everything you hope a traditional Irish pub should be... friendly helpful staff who were only too happy to put sport on the various screens around the pub, great food and that was well priced (and a good pint too) and pleasent fellow customers. For anyone drinking in the centre of Limerick City, I'd say give it a visitHi there wayoutsider, We are delighted to hear that we managed to turn your evening around for the better during your visit. Thank you so much for your lovely review and your recommendation of pub. We hope that next time you're around Limerick, you'll call in to see us again! Kind Regards, Ger.

I visited hook & ladder for the first time at the weekend. Despite the staff being extremely busy - everyone we met still had a smile on their face and got us a table as soon as they could (we hadn't booked and didnt mind waiting). The menu had a wide selection and was very reasonably priced. We both had the full Irish breakfast and it was delicious and very plentiful. Our eyes were bigger than out bellies as we'd hoped to have coffee and one if their sweet treats after our brunch but we were too full after our full Irish. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.
