Probably the most disappointing meal of our visit to Ireland. Village pub so no great expectations for lunch but paying 50 euros for two basic meals and 4 pints of coke is pretty expensive and fairly underwhelming fish and thai curry meal (is thai curry really meant to come with boiled potato and cauliflower in the curry? Or is that actually just putting general veg in the mix?). Close to The Burren so if you need fuel like we did then doable. Friendly service but otherwise pretty meh and paying twice the price for drinks as elsewhere nearby don't work.

McGann's which has a higher rating than McDermott's was closed, so we went to McDermott's. We are glad we did! It was great! The atmosphere is pure Irish, the food was excellent, the beer cold and the staff friendly. I had the duck, which was maybe the best meal I've had in Ireland, and my wife had the prawns, which she also thought was outstanding. We sipped on a few beers until the entertainment started at 9:00. They were good as well and capped off a terrific evening.A very good spot!

Stopped by for a drink here and would highly recommend it . The pub is comfy and inviting , with its own little snug down the back . It also serves food , however we didn’t eat there, so can’t comment , but having perused the menu it looks like good value. A nice place to settle in for an evening .

RARELY do I give 5 stars. Rathbaun is pretty terrific. It’s a family owned and operated and evident through the smiles and genuine concern. The menu is simple yet covered everyone in our group including the vegetarian and vegan. There’s live music. Good music. Clap your hands and dance if you wish. Stay here too! Sweet little village near The Cliffs but just far enough so the crowds and prices are reasonable. When I return, I’ll stay here! I had lamb stew last night and seafood chowder tonight. DELICIOUS!
