Had never experienced a place like this and hopefully this type of business will arrive in the US someday. So you set your wood BLOCK to green and waiters pass by offering you all types of pizza slices fresh from the oven, even dessert pizzas. You turn your wood block upside down to RED telling waiters you are pausing.....We had so much fun and ate pizza to our hearts content. Of course, real Italian slim pizza. Enjoyed it and highly recommend it if you enjoy eating pizza.

We had dinner for the first time in this lovely setting in this beautiful historical courtyard we took a table outside and ordered a lovely mixed cold meet starter with fried polenta followed by a grilled t bone steak a filler steak and a special calzone type pizza of the house got to say everybody really enjoyed the food and whole experience . Everything is well presented and I would say this is a more upmarket restaurants then some in the area . The place inside looks rustic and classy at the same time a d it's not far from villa Borromeo which is stunning so it's well worth having a stroll around the old town after dinner .

We consider our shop a real Wine Bar. Everything revolves around the magical world of wine, but not only .. We count a selection of over 2500 labels, including wines, sparkling wines, champagne, liqueurs and quality spirits. We also carefully research and

Have not been for a year or so but its still great for meat, our group started with the sliced meats and grilled tomino cheese we also ate filetto al sale, a costata and some pizzas. If you only want pizza, go somewhere else.If you was good cuts of meat prepared well, come here. The steak on the grill stone was, as always, ready to melt in the mouth and the costata, which I tried for the first time, was great. Costata is quite a fatty steak but that just adds to the flavour. Its a 700g steak but once you remove the bone and excess fat you probably eat about 400g (20 euro)

We discovered this restaurant fairly recently through a common friend and we have been visiting since. if this restaurant was in Milan would be definitively much more successful, given the location, but it would lose its charme. The friendly owner, who is also the chef and the sommelier, is genuinely passionate about the food he serves and takes pride in making people enjoy their visit. We enjoyed a great selection of starters, and my personal favorite were a chopped sausage lightly pan fried with balsamic vinegar and dried horse meat stripes. One of the strongest dish here is risotto, cooked according to tradition but revisited by the chef's creativity. Also the 'tagliata' that gets the name's restaurant is a 'must try'. The wine selection is superb and the suggestions we had received were spot on.Next trip to Italy we'll pay another visit, it has now become our tradition.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of fancy / vip / high class places and restaurants...ok? Having said that...La Spadellata is (in my humble opinion) the best get-away place in Milan. The hosts (English speaking) are exceptionally kind and welcoming, the food is abundant and good, the price is the icing on the cake. All this in a very warm and typical "osteria" looking environment (I said osteria not "hostaria" where they usually rip you off). I have read some bad reviews about this place and I don't know where these people had their meals, definitely not at La Spadellata. After a long day's work you can go there and have the Italian family feeling from the get go and it's like you have been there before. I loved this place. Can you find better food somewherelse? Yes, of course. Can you find a more special environment somewherelse? Yes, of course. While you go find it, I'm sticking with La Spadellata.

My business associates from Milan choose this restaurant and it was wonderful! We had a delicious 9 assortment started all based on seafood (shrimp, octopus, squid, clams, and more). The mains were also tasty and creative. And the service was excellent and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.
