This was the nearest place we could find near our hotel to eat and drink, and although quite busy, I wondered why because the food we were served was abysml and I ordered a margarita when it arrived it was obviously a pre-mixed cocktail out of a bottle and was undrinkable. The beers were popular with the men I was travelling with, but why would you want to go to a beer keller in Italy?

My husband, along with our two friends came across Ai Sorrisi by chance and we were very glad we did. We had a very warm welcome from the staff and the young lady who served us was exceptionally patient and helpful as we tried to understand the menu (rather embarrassingly we don't speak or read Italian). Our food was excellent- I has delicious sandwiches-egg and asparagus and another filled with ham and potato salad. Clearly the owners take a pride in the quality of the food they provide. I also tried Italian ginger beer- this was great. To sum up- good value, great food and a lovely location. A Monday night and a restaurant with people looking to find a table speaks volumes for the food and service. Arrived early for a good but different beer before an excellent meal. Fresh food cooked and presented well at a sensible price. Staff and service hits the exact spot for a relaxed and enjoyable evening.

Elegante accoglienza sulle tinte del rosso e del nero. Le proposte del menù incuriosiscono chi, come me, è sempre alla ricerca di nuovi sapori. Come entrée câè stato servito una tartare di carote, patate e rapa rossa: colorata e molto fresca. Le cape sante avvolte nel lardo di colonnata erano superlative: leggermente dolci, tenere da sciogliersi in bocca e con il lardo che non sovrastava gli altri sapori. Il panino Mr Lob era delizioso, estremamente soffice e abbondantemente farcito con unâottima astice (forse troppo marcato il burro del panino mentre la stracciatella era quasi assente). Per concludere, il mix di battute di pesce presentava abbinamenti ricercati che permettevano di valorizzare i singoli ingredienti esaltandone i sapori. Ottimo in tutto e per tutto!

I've been here for a lunch...well, I've tried at least.Twice in a row they said "No, we can't give you good, too busy here".What? It's like going into a shoes shop and ear like " We can't give you shoes."They could say queue up and wait 20,30 or 60 mins? But no, just go away.I surely won't be back ever... And I will say the same to all I'll ever know.

We enjoyed amazing food here in a relaxed setting as well as delicious wine, all at a very reasonable price.We managed to be seated outside immediately after coming from the Mercato Albinelli, service was friendly and menus were available in Italian and English. The food here is that of Puglia rather than Modena, but is so good that Bottega Mama Puglia is well worth a visit.

We stopped by for an early dinner (5pm) since we had skipped lunch while touring the two Ferrari museums. We were greeted warmly - and enjoyed their air conditioned dining room. I really liked my eggplant Parmigiano. They bent over backwards to enhance the Italian / English communication gap. Lovely hosts.
